Okay I know this has been done but in various different
mutation, best Aphex Song (that one drives me bonkers), this
album Vs that album..but never so expliciltly..I think..or
atleast not in a while..

What is the single best RDJ release? One get one chance, and
it can be any release, single album, EP under ant
incarnation, Aphex, AFX, one of the two Windows..etc...

We could tally em all up and see what's the favourite all
time RDJ etc...you can give a breif explanantion for your
vote as well..

to get the ball rolling..
after a lot of humming and harring, pondering considering
etcs, I vote for

DRUKQS

simply for the sheer number of good songs in one 3 1/2
square inch vicinity and the diversity of styles..a tour de
force of all that's come before with amaaazing production
quality...

there you have it out with yours...

SAW 85-92
his first, yes. but his most consistent and best as well. as
someone on here has said, the sounds are dated, but the
music isn't.

hard one, especially because I'm no fan of mr.James - but I
have my fair share of albums.

I think I would join you in drukqs..

My vote goes for the "Richard D. James Album", version that
comes with the Girl/Boy EP. Personally I think it has some
of his best melodic songs, such as "Girl/Boy Song" itself. I
love the contrast of the drums on top being distorted,
falling apart, while underneath there's this inner-beauty
dying to be revealed, but keeps getting pummeled away by the
drums.

Actually, odd as it may seem I would actually go
for...erm...hmm...hard choice...I guess...I don't have a
clue. I suppose, Drukqs, if only because it is also the
worst thing he has ever released.

Cool topic... I like this stats stuff. I remember somebody
here made this poll where everyone gave EVERY song on EVERY
album a ranking, and then they actually made like a top 50
Aphex Twin songs... it was crazy, and it turned out well and
just as I'd expect it to.

With that said...

Chalk up another vote for Drukqs. I don't know if I'm
surprised that's it's winning or not... I don't WHAT to
think with that fucking album.

ICBYD please flea :)

(alls I'm saying is his minor releases, AB & joyrex contain
more great tracks between them than any of his LP's...)

I agree..theres great tracks on little release..I love all
the ABs..but on Drukqs all of the great styles are all in
close proximity..saves a lazy bastard like me from flipping
on and off all of those eps..heh...I think that's a
legitimate reason:)
