If everyone would be listening to aphex.
Kids at school with afx logos printed on their shirts.
Ads,etc.

It would be better than Rnb but...

NO NO NO!
OH PLEASE GOD NO!
IT WOULD SUCK MAJOR COCKS IN HELL!
Because I'd probably feel less unique. I love being
different from the rest. I always try to be as much me as I
can and if all of a sudden everyone starts listening to
aphex the fun'll be over for me. It wouldn't be special
anymore.
He would be just another commercial dick sucker!

i don't know... it would be strange.
but it wouldn't prevent me from liking afx at all — an
artist's popularity has nothing to do with its talent! :)

everyone changes when they start to get too popular.

there are probably a lot of posers now that say they love
AFX.

I agree with uzim, an artist's popularity etc. etc.

Nexus 6 > yeah, far too often... :/
but some very well-known artists still do good music (björk
for example).

You don't see everyone in school walking around with bjork
logos printed on their shirts. At least not in my school. I
haven't seen one single kid wearing a bjork shirt or
something...

To tell the truth, I like knowing that I'm into music that
nobody else around me has any clue about... if everyone
walked around with ''AE'' on their shirts, that wouldn't
make me happy... I'd still be 100% into their music, I don't
care about popularity in THAT way... it won't turn me off
the music or anything. But I have to admit, listening to
Parhelic Triangle and having everyone else cringe and wonder
what the fuck it is is kinda cool. ]:-)

If that happened you would all have to listen to someone
else.

So that you can feel superior because you like a "higher"
form of music.

Get over it!!!

i think it's shitty for people to want their favorite
artists to never gain popularity. if you care about other
people at all you'll want them to gain a better appreciation
for good music and exposure to people like RDJ would do
that.

Naw man it's not the popularity per se that people fear;
it's the almost inevitable shittening (shittifying?
shitefaction?) of an artist's output resulting from the
complacency that tends to be engendered by fame.

Ah, but is this drop in quality an actuality or merely
perceived? Don't ask me, man.

In the end, it's the music, not the musician or his
instruments, that says something about those who listen...

almost always perceived but there are, of course, notable
exceptions! =)

Sounds like some people just listen to stuff because they
think it makes 'em look cool.
