Hi all, I've just got a new CD MP3 player. 120 second antishock, comes with rechargable batteries and charger. V. good value, great sound quality. They're in Maplins for £50 (£47.50 with NUS card!) and I thoroughly recommend getting one to anyone with access to a CD burner. |

I gotta get one. I was thinking about getting a mobile with mp3 but they too expensive. My tape walkman still does the trick though! Old Skool Analogue! |

CD-MP3-players is a good solution if you want portable mp3's. cheap and easy to use |

It's a Lenoxx one, can't remember the model name (doesn't say on the actual player!). I'm listening to leftfield on mine at the moment. Bizarrely the CD case I bought at the same time, an "audiofile" (nice pun) one, has a label saying AFXtm on the inside! |

Yeah, I was considering getting a 10GB HD one, but 700mb is enough for a weeks worth of music and at a 1/4 of the price it's a far better choice imo. The only reason I can really see for getting a HD one is if you don't have regular access to a CD burner... |

Ah nice, I want a mp3 player! And seeing that I do have access to a CD-burner, I'm seriously considering a CD based MP3 Player. :) Although I've heard aload of myths. :S |

What kinda myths? Some I've seen were rubbish with little or no anti-shock, but the one I got is great (so far- maybe it'll blow up next week). |

Myths like: * There really slow scrolling thru the tracks, directories and forward/previous tracking. * That they crash! and you have to turn it off or something. I've been just told to try and get a "Creative" one, cause there more stable or something. Hmm.. you havent got a link or something do ya? or could you possibly remember the model name of yours? :) |

Mine takes about 15-20 seconds when you first turn it on to scan the directores etc. but after that directory/track skipping is really quick. Just like changing tracks on a CD player. I'm off for a week, but email me and I'll send you details (model, company URL etc.) when I get back. |

Hmm... Slap a CD in, it scans all the directories and its sub-directories... that isnt a hassle. :) I'm gonna do a bit of shopping soon :) How is it with long filenames of mp3s? It aint gonna look pretty having BOARDS_OF~1.mp3 BOARDS_OF~2.mp3 etc.... :S |

Ahh yeah, that's the one bad point- even though it has a backlit screen tracks/directories only appear as numbers. This isn't as bad as it sounds esp. if you put whole albums on the CD... |

Still, I use a empty roll of 25 CD-R's to hold my MP3 CDs. So I have a fair amount of Gig of Mp3s that I can take with me! I know what I put on them, so it'll be fine for me using it, but someone else might have troubles .................................. ah fuck 'em :) *looks through MP3-CD catalogs :)* |

I've got the Rio Volt SP90 It's a bit more expensive but the battery life isn't bad at about 10 hours CD MP3 players are the way forward! |
