his albums (with the exception of 18) are actually good
until they're overexposed. i should say until moby was
overexposed. i can't stand his music anymore, and i was a
big fan for a few years. animal rights was my favorite, it's
a shame he never does those songs live.

whoa! animal rights, okay in the same sentence?
for shame.

well, my last comment was stupid, because you don't say okay
anywhere in that sentence. time to go to sleep.
but really, what made animal rights good?

it's made up of excellent acoustic ambient music and fun
balls-out rock. punk rock made by one guy. i like "face it"
too, great punk-metal. now justify your opinion of animal
rights.

care to be a bit more specific on why you don't like it? or
is it just a case of mboy's overexposure ruining his music?

no. i won't be more specific because it was a gut reaction
the first time i heard the music. i think that justifies it.
i dislike the music on that album, the guitars, the ambient
tracks, nothing was memorable, it was just bad. will that
do?
anyway i heard that before play came out and before i had
heard of moby.

popular= bad ---> obscure= good makes about as much logic
as...
popular= good ---> obscure=bad

Moby is rather annoying, and lies about himself even more
than RDJ... even the "Moby" name story is bullshit, unless
he made up a bullshit fake story about how the Melville
connection was bullshit, just to bullshit.... if that makes
sense.....

there are worse things than Moby..... so quit bitchin', just
ignore him, and Eminem is still better than most rappers,
even thou he can only rap about his own cult of white trash
personality... and they are both better than some of these
newer rock bands who are becoming so cliched and pre-fab
"camera friendly", its like the 80's all over again... and
what is the deal with all this denim run over with a machine
sander, its like the fucking acid wash nightmare of the new
millenium! okay, ill quit bitching.

i own 'play' and i enjoyed the first 1000 times i heard it,
the song 'southside' with gwen stefani.

ok that said......

i think he just became too overexposed, and his methods of
overexposure lead to my lack of RESPECT for the artist!

ok that said.....

like anyone else he has to make a living and do what he can
to get his music out there......does this sound like sitting
on ze fence.....yea......but thats how i feel about
MOBY....ambivalent =/

churning out the exact same songs

leceouer, play wasn't shifting any albums until he decided
to sign away the rights for commercials. He said he wanted
it to get exposure, which I can understand and I would think
any offers for ads he would have snapped up straight away,
having nothing left to lose and he wouldn't have much
control after that..

popular music = original music ?

IDM, drill'n'bass, braindance etc. = extremes of music ?

oh YOU!

not in the case of Moby. he's the ONLY exception. his
shittiness is exact, precise, can be measured
scientifically.
