Seriously....what's wrong with a good bit of mindless techno every so often?...repetative drumming/rhythms have played a huge part in human culture & development; in many ways, Techno is just a contination of that.... simple is not always stupid... |

i was in opposition of the repetitive nature of a lot of dance music for quite some time. I then started exploring the possibility of making it. There are intricacies and subtleties in it that I had not expected to encounter, especially in production and transition. A lot of techno seems to be validated by what precedes and follows it in a particular track or mix, and now holds a large amount of credibility for me. The hypnotic nature of really good dance music is hard for me to disagree with. Even the most repetitive OOM TISK OOM TISK can be enthralling and enjoyable. |

yeah..you cant discount techno...about half of aphex's releases could be classified as techno... i have speedy j's loudboxer, korben..its pretty good.. its basically hard, driving techno, and all the tracks are mixed together, like a dj mix.. and btw...what is that thing in your avatar? |

I don't mind repetative beats at all. I like the ones that slowly morph as the track progresses, but keep the basic idea in tact. I just don't care for the way house music or things of the like sound. To clubby, if that makes any sense. |

Loudboxer is a step backwards korben..more straight out techno..big and reverbating but a bit straight forward..by no means a worthy follow up to Pure Energy and definetly not to A Shocking Hobby... And you were asking about Herbert..I dont own any but I like whatever I hear..Bodily Functions I have only heard on the sound boothssounds delicate glitchy and beautiful..if you have got it I want it:) |

Well, it is not exactly d9 type of thing. D9 is more techno, IMO. This one's got much more, er, soul, as it has Danny Sicilliano singing on almost every track, and a lot of jazz timbres and chords and beneath all that glitchy percussion 'n things. Hey, I can send it over, if you want. |
