That sucks, man, sorry to hear it.

My story is I fell in love with a lying selfish manipulator
6 years ago and I still can't shake it. I don't know why.

Ah! What a great topic! I TOTALY have a "one that got away"
story!

It was Valentine's Day 1997, I went to Toronto with friends
(including my b/f at the time, who I had become disenchanted
with (newbie "Ant", infact)) to see FreakyChakra at a
hippy-rave called "Resonnance". There was a cute younger
boy, say 17 (I was 21), there with some fat chicks (so he
must have been a nice guy, right?). He was not a hippy,
btw. He appeared so sweet and kind and genuine, with his
endearing inebriated dance. I made sure to dance near him,
and made more and more eye contact throughout the night.
See, when I'm really attracted to a guy, I tend to get more
timid, so I didn't have the nerve to approach him myself.
So what I did do was get my friend to give him a Valentine
coupon for a free "Frosty" (Wendy's), which I had written my
phone # on. I don't recall how exactly, but we did end up
speaking briefly just b4 I was to leave. He seemed very
keen to talk to me. His name was Joseph. He was very
obviously VERY high on E. (oh, he was so darling!) So high
that misread my name on the thing. I mentioned an upcoming
party in Mtl, neither of us had a pen on us, so he struggled
to remember the URL for the event by repeating it aloud. I
knew that there was NO chance that he was going to remember
it, but I took comfort in the fact that he had my #, (but I
did not mention the # thing or ask for his - dumb move), and
that he seemed so interested in me. I left feeling very
confident that I would hear from him soon.
Well, I never did hear from sweet Joseph. I should have
known when he messed my name up, see, my friend had also
written her name on the thing - to make it seem more casual-
and Joseph had combined our names! He was so high, in
retrospect I don't think he even saw my # on there. And he
probably lost the darn thing, or of he did manage to hang on
to it, he might not have known which name was mine, which
would make it difficult to call. This is what I like to
tell myself at least...'cause I know

I'm a thick headed doof. I met a girl who looks similar to
jessica biel...I had a huge crush on her but kept it quiet,
cuz i'm soooooooo use to rejection. We use to hang a lot,
she even had me over for dinner one night.

I totally didn't know at the time that she was interested,
there were soooooooo many signs looking back now. About 3
yrs later, on the night i broke up with some psycho/skank
who i caught accessing my e-mail, i spent the night
online...she was on AIM so we were chatting, and she kinda
spilt the beans about her feelings and whatnot...i don't
understand why she did...or the purpose at the time

It was a happy moment at first, but then like a double
whammy in the end. I mean, i wasn't in the best of states
that night, and i don't think she knew my feelings where the
same... She moved to florida in 1998 a year after i met
her, since then i've always thought about her, and talked to
her on line....if u'r wondering why i just don't hop and see
her.

I dunno what the deal is...she's coming up to visit family
and friends here in NY the next few weeks. I dunno if i
should just let the situation die, bring it up, or just be
casual about the whole thing....

It just sucks know things would have been a lot different,
and a lot better than they were :'(

I just threw one back.. Seems she's still in love with her
last boyfriend. Ahh well, 'twas but a meager sunfish,
plenty of larger beasts in the sea. I'm actually getting
rather sick of the whole game.. No challenge! The last 12
girlfriends I've had were about as hard to ensare as a
mentally-handicapped school of slugs. Though I don't have
much hair on my chest, I am indeed a Man and I love the
hunt.... I want to be tossed about in her stormy sea! I
want to chase her through glades, dark forests, and prickly
foliage before my shaft finally finds her heart!

either those are some amazing metaphors or you really want
go to great lengths for a girl

Bah. I want a fair-skinned Amazon... A snowy leopard with
a killer's instinct. There's a girl from Ecuador that's
interested in me but she'd probably be a pushover. Though
she is quite exotic.. She reminds me of one of those
fragrant orchids hidden deep in the jungle.
