WHY WHY WHY

dont you just hate it when you download a song and it has
nothing to do with the title or the band you are looking
for?

why do people change the name and the descriptions of the
songs?

to make you go, ooh they sound different, its good, then you
realise its someone else, and you go, ooh i'll buy that cos
it sounded just like the band i know and love so well.

believe it or not there are people out there who hate mp3's
(moralists), they intentionally mislabel songs and put them
on the web. sometimes they name one real song another real
song, other times they take a real song and turn it into a
fake song by another real band (ie: a hoax). they get off on
it.

Now that is just perplexing... but mission accomplished...
IT'S FUCKING ANNOYING!!!!

I looked for bootleg and unreleased tracks by System of a
Down the other day, and got a bunch of generic death metal
that OBVIOUSLY isn't them. Arg, and I was so excited.

And of course those magical days on Napster when if someone
heard a track that had electronic elements but they didn't
know who made it, it always seemed to be by...

APHEX TWIN. Who can forget ''Outside Kickass Violin
Solo...''

the fucked up thing about it is sometimes there really are
mp3's online that are unreleased songs. i have lots of
unreleased nin songs (mostly remixes), and there are some
real radiohead demos online. the problem with electronica is
it's so much harder to tell if it's a real track or not.

yes especialy if you are getting a new release
electronica is difficult
lots of bands and artists sound like each other now

maybe its a good idea to listen to the track whilst you're
d/l it

just an idea

sometimes i do
but i usualy leave songs to download while i go to bed and
find them in the morning
and thats where the shit happens
stupid songs
you play it
and it sticks to your head

Yeah, that's true... lots of faux pas Aphexes around that
could pass for the real thing if you're not familiar with
him too much.

But only one Serj Tankian... the band sounded SOADish to an
extent, but the voice certainly wasn't, nor the lyrics. It
hten became obvioys. Fuck.

Obviously, ''obvioys'' should be ''obvious''. Obviously.

I remember a little bit before Tool's Lateralus came out,
Schism would be the first single\video and I tried looking
and every single time I found it, it was actually Pavement -
The Hex. who would do that? i like pavement and have all
their cds but just makes no sense. i finally got the real
schism only a few days before the cd came out.

oh yeah, and before amnesiac came out, i got a song labled
as 'life in a glass house' ...but it wasnt, im pretty sure
it wasn't even radiohead, but the song was really good, even
better than the real one i thought
..and i never found out who it really was..

I downloaded Soad's Toxicity months before it was out and it
had 20 songs instead of 14(?). too bad i deleted it cuz
they were never on the album. i cant find em either since i
dont know the names.

machineofgod: thanks for reminding me of another example of
unreleased songs online: the studio demo of tool's "no
quarter" was online for years before salival came out! also,
there's an unreleased song where maynard sings called "ass
kickin' fat kid" by titannica (who have only done one song).
there're also some undertow-era demos.

machineofgod aka cosmo: did you download the "unmastered
untitled advance" mp3's by soad? i bet they're on that.

A while back, on Kazaa, I was trying to d/l Star Wars I and
was about to show my family the film. Thank God I checked
to see if the quality was good before I called them in
because it ended up being Debbie Does Dallas.
