from hiphopsite: Closing out this weeks news, there's an old showbiz saying that "the bigger the star, the nicer they are," and that adage surely applies to former James Brown drummer Clyde Stubblefield, a resident of Madison, Wis. who, as "The Funky Drummer," established himself as one of the most important players in music's recent 30-40 year history (If you doubt this, I'd advise you to check out a little-known genre of music called "hip-hop," which was basically built upon the foundation of James Brown, Bootsy Collins, and Clyde Stubblefield grooves). It recently came to our attention that Clyde has had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his bladder and has accumulated numerous bills and unfortunately, he has no medical insurance to help pay for all of the bills. We are calling on all Funkateers to help Clyde out by making a donation. No amount is too small and it is for a GREAT cause!
