I saw "Metropolis" last weekend on the big screen - I
suggest you Anime fans avoid that one. Lots of pretty sets,
but the story was shite.

In no order.

Akira
Ghost in the Shell
Ninja Scroll
The Wings of Honneamise
Serial Experiments: Lain
Perfect Blue
Cowboy Bebop
Grave of the Fireflies
Spriggan

Zaphod, you have good taste, my friend.

That story is incredibly old to begin with. You kind of have
to look at it in that light. Similar to Princess Mononoke,
which I thought that despite how ancient the story was, it
was great.

thethirdball: yeah i would have to agree with you. i saw
Metropolis about 4 or 5 months ago in a theatre and it wasnt
worth the money.

The Rurouni Kenshin series is another good anime not
mentioned...

If you watch the NGE series... be sure to watch the
movie..... it explains things much better then the series.
The series ending is a trip though ....... damn.

Escaflowne is a good anime

not to be a party pooper, but seriously, please don't hijack
this board and turn it into an anime mb. i've already seen
it happen to too many cool baords enough. i don't want to
have to leave this one as well.

don't get me wrong, i dig on anime, but there is a time and
a place for everything (certainly seems to be the case on
the net). so out of respect try and keep the anime topics
down to a minimum.

thank you!

one anime topic won't hurt.

ceri, try watching perfect blue all the through, because the
first time you see it can be quite confusing.

Appleseed the manga is excellent..the movie is a bit dodgy

The Matrix anime looks good..

Live action Akira would be stupid..I mean the story is so
vast...

doesnt anybody know the anime Danzig was working on with
Kawajiri actually got made?

Appleseed is kewl!
The scene at the end with the girls trying to shut down the
computer and one of them apologises (for nothing?) always
confused me!
I figured she probably farted!
