What is more important to you? Would you like your
favourite artist to release their less good stuff as well as
(not instead of) their "better" stuff?

Personally I wouldn't mind hearing some of what rich & boc
consider to be not good enough for release... as long as it
was cheap!

I prefer Quality.
I have some bad experiences with cheap things.

I'd love to retire my bootlegs and hear unrealesed stuff at
a good price.

but rich keep saying in interviews that he is never going to
release his best music

if they would release something new, i would definitely buy
it

the quality ones

i hate cds that are less than 65 mts

i like EPs when i haven't got much time to listen.
and i prefer quality, because i haven't got much money to
spend on cds. i don't want to see things i'd like to buy but
can't afford. :)
i prefer having "rare" tracks as mp3s.

I'm guessing Quality....if it were me, I wouldn't want what
I deemed as inferior, available on general release.

fuck quantity

this world runs on Quantity. PR & Marketing has the job of
creating illusions of Quality, to help shift the Quantity. I
want music to have a haven away from this cruel cut-thraoat
world.... so it has to be subjectively experienced Quality
that wins for me. Only someone in marketing could possibly
disagree ( devil spawn that they are )

Quantity, it would be nice to have an added bonus disk full
of MP3s of lesser quality as a bonus with the (high
quality)main release.

after years of amazing quality from slowpokes (radiohead,
nin, aphex twin) i wouldn't mind a little quantity.

i hate it when people say "well it's better to have quality
than quantity"...

why just settle for one? demand BOTH! maybe quality is
better than quantity, but quality and quantity is better
than quality alone.

thanks for reading my pointless post.

I agree, both is better. I mean they could make it a point
to have quality stuff, but at the same time, they could feel
the public's desire for more by releasing their
not-so-quality stuff. And they could say "Hey guys, we think
this stuff is somewhat crappy, but you asked for it, so take
it all bitch."

Or they could be a little nicer and people would probably
like them more.

Quantity, I'd say. A shitload of B+ Aphex would please me
more than a tiny amount of A+ Aphex, to be honest.

And fuck, if you're really good, you can churn out two great
albums a year, as long as you're John, Paul, George and
Ringo.

Less quantity doesn't always mean better product... could
mean the artist is just sucking ass in the studio. 5 years
wait for Load coming off the Black Album, and what do we
get? Alt rock Metallica...

the pipeline.

lots of times musicians record a few albums and scrap them.
good examples of this are my bloody valentine, nin, pink
floyd, and propellerheads.

Really?!?! I haven't heard that... :-/ What's the format?

Cuz One was great, but not even close to a true ''best
of''...

I can imagine ''2'' with a blue cover, and all the amazing
stuff that was left off the last one... Walrus, Strawberry,
ADITLife, Lucy, HCTSun, etc. Fuck, that would rock the
house, it'd be better than ''1''.

Be nice to hear some of those ''scrapped'' albums... I can
see how they wouldn't want them released if they aren't up
to snuff, but I'd love to hear even (insert artist here)'s
leftovers..

Although I would like RDJ to release some new stuff (drukqs
is only one year old, but still....), I'd go for quality in
the end.

Oh... my... God. 50 tracks? Fucking awesome... and hopefully
picked by QUALITY and not sales of the singles. ''From Me to
You'' and ''Ballad of John and Yoko'' didn't deserve to be
on a ''greatest hits'' ahead of...well, a MILLION other
songs. Thanks for the linky, now could you please link me to
a site selling boxers, I made a mess in mine.
