someone tell me about country mike's greatest hits.
hiphopsite.com is selling an import of mike d's side project
that never came out in the U.S. i don't know when it came
out or what type of music it is.

well, hiphopsite.com is selling the full album for anyone
interested (it's legit, not a cd-r).

so it's REALLY country music?

check out the In Sound From Way Out.
Its pretty cool instrumentals that they did as a side
project.

when did country mike come out (or "when was it made" if you
prefer) and is it all 3 of them or just mike d.?

i think it was a side project off ill communication or check
your head. so it probably came out in 93 or 94.
i'm pretty sure its just mike d.

The "explanation" behind Country Mike was that Mike D. got
hit on the head with something and became amnesiatic... as
he began recovering his memories, he began to think that he
was a famous country singer, and the rest of the Beasties
had to humour him or risk permanent psychological damage.

A cute story, but not true.

They just decided to do some country for shits 'n giggles.
They've done just about everything else, right?

that explanation is in anthology i think.
that albums got some other funny outtake kind of things on
it, such as what sounds like a drunk rapper singing a bad
karaoke version of Benny and the Jets.
