not to berate you guys but i've had info on this release on
my page for 2 or 3 weeks. just like i had info on do
you know squarepusher? up there a few days ahead of watmm,
except that time i made a post about it on here to let you
guys know. this time i didn't cos whenever i bring up new
music info it's unappreciated or just flat out ignored (like
this message probably will be). i hinted at me knowing more
info than i was letting on in this thread for anyone
keeping score...

For news as big as a new AFX release, shouldn't you have
made your own topic? I'd understand if you were trying to be
coy on purpose, but otherwise ...

i did it on purpose cos the last two or three times i've had
exclusive info no one cared (until it was official or on
WATMM). i told mr. flappypants via aim though.

fecking album cover has been released and everything yet
Warps said jack!
Why does it matter? It don't! Just the more info the better

he's on a lot of labels, i have no idea if his contract w/

he'll put anything out on lo besides compilation tracks

do you know~ is on warp tho

Well it's too little and too late, but I certainly
appreciate any news and rumors about the artists we always
talk about on the board ... sorry you got such a lukewarm
reception.

The reason *I* hadn't heard anything about this (yes, I read
that on your page Titsworth, and so far you have been
spot-on about your info mate, good show) was because WARP
hadn't told me anything, and none of my 'sources' bothered
to either. I also don't release all the information I have
until the time is right.

It is rather odd that WARP hasn't mentioned anything about
"Do You Know..." yet, as October is just around the corner.
I'm sure they have their reasons.

i don't think too much of their not mentioning it, the new
ep's by plaid, ae, and prefuse73 were on p2p servers for
months before they were announced on warp's site.

i'm glad you read my page, i have a ton of exclusive info
there. unlike you, i DON'T keep secret what i find out, i
just keep my sources strictly anonymous. if that makes my
info to some people (not you specifically) suspect, fine -
but as you said, i've been "spot on" thus far.

anyway, when you have a track listing for the new remixes
2cd let us know!

Titsworth: the reason I keep some information held back
until the right time is for various reasons, mainly the
people who tell me ask me to keep quiet about it until the
time is right because exposing it would expose them, or some
information is not finalized and announcing it to the world
can create problems (especially if the details surrounding a
release or matter change drastically).

I'll see about getting a tracklisting for the remixes CD.

understood; there are a couple things i know that aren't on
my site for that reason, but for the most part as soon as i
learn something i put it up there cos i know it doesn't have
the same exposure as this site or yours.

Tits; I love your Website where you announce forthcoming
releases, but maybe you could've done it a little more
user-friendly. It's a long way to scroll. I don't know how
your HTML-skills are, so it's just a suggestion, mate :)

Maybe the reason Warp didn't say anything about the []<
release was because the actual material was bootlegged so
early. Maybe it is a case of the less people looking for
the MP3's the better?

mortsto-x: i couldn't agree more, dude. if you read the top
of my page it actually says a new design is forthcoming. i
have it down on paper (the design) but i haven't gotten
around to making it yet. perpetual laziness this summer. as
for my html skills, they're pretty shite. i gave up my html
skills at age 12, i do all my web sites with gay-ass
netscape composer - it gets the job done! look around my
howisya site, it's all content and no glamor. sure, i have
graphics (basically just artwork i make that is barely
relevant to my page) but it's not a slick interface at all.
the new design for my music releases page is slicker. i'm
going to keep it in the same general format of:

specific release dates
season
year

but divide them into 3 different tables so the problem i
have right now of the table being too big for all my info
doesn't occur.

thanks for the propz fellas. *ali g "respect" pound to jand*

I'm curious how 30+ remixes will fit on two CDs. I've got 32
remixes and they're over three hours in total, and that's
not counting 'unreleased' remixes.

They'd better not be cut, or even worse, segued/dj mixed.
grrrr >:|

for when he did 2 remixes of a song i don't think he'll
include both on the 2cd compilation (but maybe the 4lp
set).

i hope the mysterious lemonheads "remix" and the craig david
remix are on this set!

i think it's a way for afx to leave warp...it's a sort of
summary of his career

Is it definitely out on Warp?
Joyrex, Titsworth?

I've not seen any official line on what label it's out on.

By the way, just because it's a remix compilation doesn't
mean it's remixes of other peoples music. If you read it
the article at warp it say "Unreleased and Hard to Find" or
something like that...
I think that means it will be remixes of his own work...

what is so hard to understand....????

Its on the official Warp website...

"Aphex Twin is planning to release a compilation of his
remixes later this year.

This album brings together over 30 hard to find, old, new
and unreleased remixes that aphex has completed throughout
his career.

Ranging from beautiful ambient to brutal classics with all
the AFX magic in the middle, this double cd / quad vinyl
anthology features a diverse line up of artists and bands
who have received the aphex transformation treatment.

more news to follow shortly. "

artists who have received the Aphex treatment, not people
who have remixed aphex

a lot of the aphex tracks and remixes on the net are
bullshit (i.e not RDJ... lies!)

this site has some excellent resources about old Aphex
material... read up

this compilation should be cool, so enjoy...........

offline Duble0Syx from Columbus, OH (United States) on 2002-08-10 03:19 [#00343662]
Points: 3436 Status: Lurker

What I meant was AFX treating his own work. Not someone
else doing it.
OR put simply...
Remixes of AFX, By AFX...

offline Ubik from United States on 2002-08-10 03:29 [#00343663]
Points: 662 Status: Lurker

well, it implies that its remixes by AFX of others, which he
has about 30.... but then, any new stuff by AFX would be
welcome!

i would not assume that it is just a repackaging of his old
singles, but mainly the hard to find remixes that he did
thru-out the 90s of all kinds of different acts, plus
hopefully a few unheard of tracks.

it's on warp but you're right, i don't think it's been

Just because Warp announced it doesn't mean it's coming out
on Warp. They post up news on lots of non-Warp stuff. Thrill
Jockey gig thingy comes to mind. Phoenecia aswell.
They could just be working on the same source as you.

Unless your source was somebody from Warp...
