warpmart freebies

I've ordered for hundreds of pounds from warpmart and today
got my first freebie (Richard Devines 'lipswitch' ep on
vinyl, which I already have on cd).

not complaining though! warpmart are really reliable.

I'm curious: what freebies have people gotten?

I haven't got any freebies, cuz I've never ordered. Which
means posting in this topic makes no sense. BUT, there are
tons of topix on freebies from warpmart. Search freebees,
free, freebies in the search, and voila?

Muahahahahahahahahhahaha. Now I'm just being rediculous!

when I ordered the two latest prefuse 73 releases on cd,
they made a mistake and sent me the cd and vinyl version of
"the 92 vs 02 collection." so I e-mailed warpmart, and not
only did they allow me to keep the "12, but they sent me the

Studies And Uprock Narratives...

:)

was one Plaid sticker

I wish I could order off Warpmart..instead I am paying about
twice and thrice the amount in local record shops :(

see, i'd be ordering from warp like crazy if i lived in the
UK. but i don't, and it's so much easier to get it from
BN.com (Barnes & Noble) where they have 90% of what i want
at excellent prices ($12-13!) and FREE shipping!

i keep trying to think of excuses to buy from warpmart, but
everytime i come up with something i want that BN.com
doesn't have, warp doesn't have it either. they only sell
one vsnares album! and the donkey rhubarb ep isn't sold
there either.

I've never ever ever ever ever had a freebie from Warp.
Grrr.

Postcards and stickers don't really count, do they? Cos they
sort of say, don't they, "Preorders get stickers" and
blahblah...

Grrr.

hmmm, turns out advance by lfo is out of print in the U.S.,
i guess i have an excuse to order from warpmart now.

Mmm, my Aphex TeeShirt is top quality aswell.

The Warp deconstructing logo one is crap. I never wear it
any more for fear of it falling apart...

*looks up*
wow i sure am a bitch dude!

anyway, i received my 1st ever warpmart order today.
pros: extremely fast international shipping (4
business days!), items in good condition (though both copies
of LFO's 'frequencies' came unwrapped; the two copies of
plaid 'spokes' are in plastic), received everything i paid
for (including bonus mix cd for plaid) and in the right
format
cons: the only freebies i received despite showing
them how many warp tracks i've played on my radio show
(hundreds by now) were 3 promotional postcards! they didn't
reply to my email so maybe they didn't even take the dj
thing into consideration, but i know people who've gotten
free stuff w/o saying anything so i really think it's a
"luck of the draw" type situation.

so in conclusion i'm not going to order from warpmart much
except when i want something out of print in the US or
exclusive to warpmart. most everything is available for 1/2
to 1/3 the price from bn.com so it may be a year or two
before i order from warpmart unless they get smart (shop
smart, shop s-mart) and set up a US warpmart (told them this
in my email too).

titsworth: i just ordered 'spokes' from Warpmart come last
thursday, as it was still apparently shipping with the bonus
mix. did your order confirmation list the bonus CD on it,
or not?

offline manticore from London (ON) (Canada) on 2003-10-27 11:56 [#00920696]
Points: 651 Status: Addict

and yeah, agreed: might as well order only if it's exclusive
or otherwise unavailable elsewhere. i've gotten the 'anti'
and 'cichlisuite' EPs from warpmart for that very reason,
and the price was either the same or equal to what i would
pay for them domestically if they were anywhere to be found.

people outside the UK never get freebies besides postcards
and stickers.....that is because shipping rates cost them
too much

i wrote above that i got the 'spokes' bonus mix cd, which is
really why i ordered, but i was just observing that warpmart
aren't always generous w/ random free items.. maybe things
have changed

that makes sense.. good to know, thanks

(i think if you order a bunch of vinyl though they'll throw
in things that are relatively light, like cd singles in
plastic or cardboard sleeves)

sorry. yeah, i know you received it in the post. i wanted
to know if the order confirmation e-mail they sent out
listed the bonus CD on it or not. mine just had the
following: warp1** (catalogue number) Plaid 'Spokes' 1 x 5"
CD listed in it, but i ordered it when it was still
apparently shipping with the bonus mix, so i'm just wanting
to know if that will be the case or not.

WARPCD114 : Plaid : Spokes [Warp]
2 * [1 * 5" Compact Disc] @ GBP 10.99 each

no mention of the bonus. but it says on the site that ALL
orders will include it (not just preorders), so you should
be receiving it.

where did you get that idea..?

I certainly do not live in the UK.

since then I have gotten more freebies - a Lexoleum cd and
just a few weeks ago I got a piece of vinyl with my NMB
Allstars 12".

I think I have found what it is (it is completely
white label, but there is a small catalogue nr. scratched in
the vinyl).. can't remember at the moment though. :)

ah, sweet! thank you!

interesting fact: the copy of 'twoism' which i bought at the
local HMV came with not one but (accidentally) 2 BOC
stickers in it, even though those were apparently included
only with direct Warpmart orders.

yea i got a boc sticker as well and i ordered from barnes &
noble

it's fun when the factories mess up.. everytime i get a
Quannum album there're like 2, 3, or 4 copies of the insert
stuffed inside the case

- so no freebies for me. :(

this reminds me. a friend of mine bought a copy of the
'donkey rhubarb' EP at some store somewhere, and as it turns
out, it could very well be the only existing copy which has
a misprint of some goth-y doom-metal band on the reverse
side of the insert. i wonder how much that would fetch on
ebay.

creditcards are pretty safe, these days.

if you don't use them stupidly..

they are, however, a moneypit.

WARP includes freebees when there is room and it won't send
the weight into a different postal class (on both domestic
and international orders). It also depends on the mood of
the person fulfilling your order.

yeah, it's just i've seen a lot of my family members get
into horrible credit card debts and i don't want to end up
that way. i mean, i'm sure i would use it wisely, but you
never know - plus there's interest rates, overdraft fees....

Travis, you were fucking lucky - 4 business days? The post's
gone to shit recently, it used to be 4 days to the US and
back (I used to write to a friend regularly), but recently
it'd been six, seven, sometimes nine days for a package,
either way. I had some CD-r from my label to send to
American, which were going on sale at a live show. I sent
them nine days in advance, and they still didn't arrive on
time. Fucking stupid.

Coincidence of the day: I ordered my first package from
Warpmart today (the three Æ EPs they had in stock that I
didn't have).

i received an order about a month ago...but they mixed up
two cd's so i mailed them to ask if we could exchange the
cd's and they told me to send them the wrong one and they'll
send me the right one...it's been like 2 weeks now since i
sent the wrong one back and i still havent received the
right one - if i knew this i'd at least kept the wrong one

I received my last order.

They forgot my pre-order gubbins though! :(

e-mailed and they said sorry and it's on the way. I get such
a small amount of freebies it's not funny. I order almost
every week and get stickers all the time. I've had one 12"
and one CD and that's it. Man that's harsh. I'd have though
regulars would get more.

instead of ordering it every week do it once per month - its
silly but its going to look like a bigger order so you
should get more freebies

They're big orders anyway. I do try and do them all at teh
beginning of the month but sometimes things aren't for
pre-order or I don't know they're coming out or come in
stock. I should be more controlled.
