What voice would be best for AFX lyrics??

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-03-26 23:02 [#00001563]

This is the topic of the current "Weekly Poll" -- actually
-- I wanna find out what artist would be most suited for
performing vocals of fictive AFX-lyrics.

Tell me your opinions on this.

Tekn010G from Australia on 2001-03-26 23:13 [#00001566]

I reckon that Richie could cut up some old 3 tenors stuf and
make tunes from it, I think it would be interesting, as for
a sing along, I think they should get the guy who sung the
full house theme song!!

Tekn010G from Australia on 2001-03-26 23:13 [#00001567]

BTW I'm kidding

D-Hex from KC Missouri on 2001-03-27 07:33 [#00001595]

Justin Timberlake,,,haha that would be funny...........you
got a genius on one side of the track, and a no talent ass
nose on the other. Anyways, Bjork would probably go over
decently. And for any 'pretty' Aphex songs, Jimmy Eat
World!!! No probably not, but it would be interesting.

AFXDUB from canada on 2001-03-27 08:11 [#00001604]

to tell the truth? the best vocalist could probably be the
guy from KMFDM [i know theyre not a band anymore and that
its some remaining members as MDFMK]. but yeah that guy
singer from KMFDM. he is the shit, and it would work well
with some AFX's harder stuff.. for his more soothing stuff i
would have to say the portishead..

2. That bloke from Police Academy

3. Scat-Man John
(He is now dead)

Matmos are working on Bjork's forthcoming album. Maybe they
should persuade Richard to contribute something. (BTW that's
going to be 'king A, check out Matmos if you don't know
them.) Apart from Bjork, I think he ought to work with some
Tuvan singers - the guy from Yat-Kha or Hun Huur Tu. Or
Keiji Haino, he might just out-weird Aphex.

Remember 'Richard's Hairpiece'? Beck through a pitch
shifter? That's proof Aphex ought not to work with normal
singers.

okRobot from Los Angeles on 2001-03-28 01:50 [#00001682]

The Scat man guy died?!!?!? aww man that sucks how?

okRobot from Los Angeles on 2001-03-28 01:51 [#00001683]

BTW, I could rock over AFX tracks......

enjoying Depeche Mode now, so I'll say David Gahan... I like
his low, somber voice!

the chick from becoming x or the other chick? i personally
prefer chris of sneaker pimps doing lyrics. oh yes. chris.

plus there is this finnish group called 22pistepirkko with a
very distinctive-sounding singer. he'd be good.

becoming x is good, but splinter, now thats brilliant. on x
the vocals are by a kelli dayton. on splinter it's the chris
guy. i haven't heard anything of bloodsport but i think i
was informed they have a new chick singing.

For some of his ambient stuff, I'd like to hear the lady
from Opus III, Kirsty Hawkshaw ? I think her name is.

For some of the more beat-oriented stuff...I dunno...David
Bowie maybe ? How do you reckon Alison Goldfrapp would sound
with Aphex ?
