It may have been part of that interview, I dunno. He said he'd only heard 5 songs or so and they sounded really obvious and cheesy... although if compared to rn'b and stuff like that it probably is amazing. |

you guys are right, it is wrong, and anyone who buys those albums are idiots too, but at least some of the people in this country can see thru it. From living in the US this is how it looks: just sit back and laugh at the nonsense in my country, i know ill be right there doin it with you. But the more you insult America, the more self centered it will become. Do you think stereotypical views of English people, or Polish, or Norse, etc, will ever end if the idiots in my country feel like they need to defend themselves from criticism? What I mean is, criticizing the faults of one country just opens up the door for criticizing the faults of another, and all countries DO have faults. I'm not saying that you aren't entitled to the right to criticize America, by all means go for it, but if there are any "patriotic" americans around, all it's going to do is start a fight. |

Yeah, but if you are in Afghanistan and your family have been blown to bits by US bombs you'd find it hard to see the funny side of this arsehole. Its not about picking out a country's faults here its about stating the fact that the US is THE most powerful country n the world EVER and it sees fit to kill, maim and destroy lives so it can pursue its strategic interests, whether this be in south America, Asia, eastern Europe or the Middle East. It just so happens that your country has overtaken mine as the key bastard of the world since WW2. I can't understand why Americans take criticism as a personal attack. When I see people in the Middle East burn effigys of Blair I smile. I know what my government does is not in my name or is not an extension of my will. Arseholes like this guy serve the rulers of the US by whipping up this jingoism. Its nothing to do with pride or being 'a good American'. |

It has to keep asserting its power to the fullest extent to pursue its interests, because by doing so they have already created so much anti US setiment that if they just stopped then the US would be overrun/overthrown/whatever. I don't really know who's side I'm on. |

being in texas where we have a concentration of country music fans... rednecks, white trash and so on... I see these type of people every day. They are the ones who put duck hunting and dale ernhart stickers on their trucks. please believe me... they do not represent the majority of americans. i've found that saying you are american doesn't say much about who you are or where you came from. example: I'm part Swiss, Italian, and Cherokee Indian... I didn't really make a point. Sorry, I'll gather clearer thoughts next time. |
