since he is not played on radio stations at least where i come from how did you get to know about afx? i was reading SELECT and Q after he released i care.... and that is when i decided to check him out then fell in love and we have benn to gether for six years now |

i had that same problem. his style was pretty consistent until he made RDJ album, and then its hard to tell that the same person made Ambient Works. |

embarassing story, kind of. i accidentally bought Ventolin when i saw the "aphex" and thought that it was apex theory, i had just gotten back from a stabbing westward concert where they opened up for them. i showed it to my brother and he said, "hey, that's not apex theory, but i much better band. let me have a copy of that." and i listened to it and gave it a go. ever since i've loved 'The Aphex Twin'. =D |

Bought Kid A... read the reviews talking about the Aphex influence... downloaded Windowlicker and a few I Care Because You Do tracks from Napster (remember THAT?) after finding a little review site about Aphex recommending tracks... wish I could find that site again... Anyway... that's it. Heard Alberto Balsalm and some others, and I was hooked. This was Christmas 2000, I believe. |

yep. Me n' the boys caught that old aphex bug back in '98. Things were a lot browner then, browner than nowadays. Anyway, ma'sweetheart told me a story 'bout some Richard D Famous CD or some such i dont really remember the boys name, but i do remember the pie we had that day. Mmmmmm that was damn fine pie, all brown and filled wi'apples. Momma dont make pies like that no more. Not since she dead four year ago. We burried her up on the old hill. She always liked that hill. Least thats what we decided, seeing as she always spent her time up there with uncle Jack and uncle Bob, and sometimes Giles the watermelon farmer... and sometimes nanna Gertrudes son Jimmy... Yep. |
