Great cd...I just dled it off of soulseek. I might buy it.

For those who don't know about this release, it's the remix
ep from "Hybrid Theroy." Not only are the remixes well done,
but practially each song has guest talent from vocalists,
producers (well, duh, it's a remix abulm! :) ), etc.

heh, i can understand many ppl not liking linkin park. I'm a
fan. the style of the remix cd seems to remind me of ninja
tune artists, and dj shadow, dr. octagon etc.

The remixes arent' really that electronic influenced, as in
having electronic sounds, but electronic structure/fx. The
lyrics seem to be rap heavy for the most part.

I really like this cd, and infact will be launching my own
cd review site in a few months, so i'm not trying to be
biased here, just stating my own opinion.

plus, it should be stated that the people of linkin park are
pretty stupid. I've met each one of them, and almost got
into a brawl with that rapper fellow over an argument about
chester puking on stage and bailing the set for 2 songs.

i still dig LP, it gets old, maybe they will grow a bit from
rap/rock, but hey, Hybrid Theory was pretty fierce

I liked hybrid theory, listened to it nonstop driving from
FL to OH (1200 miles) without getting sick of it, so I gotta
hand it that. havent heard the new album tho

I think they are boring, bland nu-metal.

they are Nu-metal POP music. After hearing "I'm about to
break" for the 200th time on the radio you really start to
hate linkin park.

i've been looking forward to this remix album all year
solely based on the guest talents on it. i'm disappointed
prince paul and tricky were removed from the cd but everyone
else i was looking forward to is on it. some of my favorite
emcees and producers actually. i might buy it, but i'll
definitely download it.

isnt linkin park like a rock version of a boy band?

they were put together by the record company and dont write
their own songs?

i could be wrong...?

they named their band linkin park so that their cds would be
by limp bizkit and people would be like "hey, i heard them
on the radio"

fuckin leeches.
and i hate limp bizkit.

Ewwwwwwww... Linking Park.

All you need to be a millionaire musician these days is
trendy hair, dyed and spiked. And boom, you're ''badass''.
Great.

hmm a remix album of a debut (as far as i know) which has
had about five singles released from it. and theyre
releasing a single from the remix album.

it's milking time methinks.

and i think youre onto something on the boyband front zeus.

my mates have all got copies of the album and the fact is i
don't listen to the radio hardly at all (except maybe peelie
but the rest is shit)
and being UK it doesn't get hyped as much and ido like the
album, as much as i think im a cock for saying so.
its just fun, but not quite like pop or trying to be
serious like nu metal and all that shit, it just seems to be
different to the mainstream stuff that makes it fun.

offline nekta from shezlick (United Kingdom) on 2002-07-26 22:03 [#00326243]

and yes i heard that they were originally a boyband but
didn't look right so were 'remodelled' to be the band they
are now, that guy with the ring in his face has too good a
voice to be i na normal nu metal band, it has to be said

yea, i love that. it's hilarious how a new band can come out
and sell millions of copies of their debut album, then get
their record company to invest a cool million or more on a
remix album to said debut - and the catch is, they let the
band pick who did the remixes. hats off to fucking linkin
park. i'm not a big fan of theirs (tho i rather enjoy the 5
songs i've heard, which is their first 3 singles plus "my
december" and the track w/ the x-ecutioners) but i really
have to appreciate what they've gotten away with and the
remix album sounds "tight."

why should you feel bad about admitting you like a band?
that's really lame. but at least you admitted it, i'm glad.
too many people on this board are just too close minded.

yeah, those pesky kids.

thats 7 or 8 releases off the back off 11 songs...thats
nearly as bad as the stone roses...

11 songs being typical of an album...hybrid theory probably
has about 40 tracks. just to piss me off.

the joy of not listening to radio is that i am not
influenced by the morbid effects of radio play.
i hated radio head for the first two album's because of that
fact.
it wsan't till a year after ok computer came out and someone
said, 'you don't like radiohead? but there latest album
sounds like yr stuff!'
i said, 'waht!'
and then i got into them and went and picked up teh 1st 2
album's adn stopped listening to radio for good [except of
course pirate radio and jazz stations]
Linkin Park isn't really my style seeing as they are top 40
but i do dig their shit.
in the end is an awesome track although apparently it is one
of their biggest adn gets played everywhere 24/7
sorry you guys have to go thorugh that!
there is a big dj shadow influence from their resident
beatjunkie mr hahn>check out track 11 on hybrid theory-a
cure for the itch.
ver dj shadow.
but i love their stuff.
i amy check out the remix album.
imo-most remix album's blow>cept for NIN.

I don't mind Linkin Park at all... their new song is pretty
decent... the first time I heard it I thought it was Nine
Inch Nails, and then towards the end you have some glitchy
parts with is cool... the video is nice as well!!

there's so much prejudice when it comes to music tastes...
"I hate this group, and you like them, so I'm more
intelligent then you, and have better taste in music!!" Bah,
it's so stupid...

to the radio and i don't have cable (this isn't me bragging,
just statement of facts)

You counld be more wrong. they were going to name their band
hybrid theroy, and the cd linkin park, but decided to change
it because linkin park is where they're from (not sure, but
the linkin park had greater presidence for some simular
reason).

reanimation is so hot!!!!!! one of the best hip-hop albums
of the year (sadly?) for sure. every track is banging, great
remixes. ALMOST makes me want to hear the original songs.
