Just spent three days on e and mushrooms (scoobie snocks!!!) in the woods and beach on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Not quite too-much, but almost. The party was great...three "different" stages in the woods and on the beach and they never stopped! more passing out than sleep and no solid downtempo/chill-out space...but who cares. check out groovey.com/soundwave for nitty-gritty. the weather was perfect! Hot and clear and the stars were out at night...you might see that in the dessert. The DJ's were a bit weak during the day and one guy had trouble mixing afx, but points for trying. Still not quite back to reality. You guys get out much? |

hadn't done e in almost a year. and then I did E! Holy and wholy fuckin' what was I thinkin'? How could I forget? I guess you just get old...and listen to downtempo all the time! There's another wicked dig in Nelson called Shambala in August, but I can't go...sigh! |

Another thing about "No More Drugs": E stays in your system for a nice cozy while. I thinks I'm back to square one now...but totally sure. Origianl thread still stands...hope you all aren't all basement trolls... the sky is nice once in a while. |

i dont really go to parties. i cant stand most of the people who go to them, who insist on getting drunk because its "cool". I usually just drive around smokin bowls listenin to AFX and BoC and then go walk around in the woods like fuckin big foot. i love the out doors! :) |

I'm back again!!! This time from Shambhala2002!!! Wholey cow, what a play ground! This massive cattle ranch gives up like 500acres of it's dust for this three night five stage (plus renegades) electronic festival! Kids from Washington, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and madfolk passingthrough from everywhere from Australia to Spain! I don't know how many cool-vibe gigs like this there are out there. They were searching everyone for...Not Drugs!!!...Booze!!! No Townies!!! No Rednecks!!! Pure "e"asy vibes and crazyness all around! They had this ewok village in the forrest with the DJs spinning from the core of this massive stump, etc, etc. You get the point. Good times for all. these won't go away! They're out there! Go Outside you Trolls!!! |

i went to chemical brothers and oakenfold in san francisco a few months ago. it was quite terrific, as 17,000 people on the same drugs seems to usually be. |

Man...The WestCoast (NWCoast) gets the great outdoor fests/raves, but the underground warehouse scene is Extremely Local (good, but not Great). I'll probalbly see Amon Tobin, PreFuse73, and Bonono in October. Certain drugs don't work for me aournd the booze so this gig just won't be the same... sigh |

You gotta just keep trying until you get it right. I've spent years out of the scene 'cause the scene started to move faster than me. You take some time out, catch your breath, fall into deep depression and misanthropy, look at yourself one day and say "fuck it...time to party again". And not to knock the "partying is boring" folk out there but... Boring people find partying boring. Partys are only as bad as the people there. You can help the vibe by being open and cool and (way more important than being "cool") FUN. Fun people are fun and fun is contagious! Booze can be bad. I've had less fun drunk at parties than I've had while completely straight! And booze is legal!!? More water than wine and you'll be fine. Educate yourself and don't be afraid to experiment. You discover amazing things that no one else will be able to tell you. You don't experience drugs, the drugs allow you to experience yourself. And gosh darn it, people like you! |

Warped Tour 2002 was the last BIG "festival" i went to. i just went to a show in a small club the other night to see the Voodoo Glow Skulls. i went to a party the weekend before last where my friends band played and we had a local dj open. it got broken up by some stupid gang bangers starting fights wiht all us "white" kids. after the VGS show i went to a "kick back" at the bands house. |

..must be the Werchter festival,(first week of june) witch is a rather BIG festival. I saw the notwist, Lamb, The chemical Brothers,air,... I also went to see Jamie Lidell,Bogdan Raczynski and luke Vibert on the Grand Place in Brussels. And Ceephex Acid crew on the afterparty, but I don't remember that was before or after Werchter. |
