I hate when...

offline Junktion from Northern Jutland (Denmark) on 2002-07-17 07:30 [#00312445]

...I surf the topics, for a topic I replyed to days ago,
just to find out that I was the last one that posted in that
topic. Makes me wonder if I made the topic boring or
something =/

I hope xltronic's board is going to have a "last changed
by"-notice on the topic-list

i just don't see it as a big problem. a minimalstic layout
has always been a critical issue for me. even the topic
titles will be removed in xltronic ;-)

"even the topic titles will be removed in xltronic ;-) "

Is that a joke?

I think it's a great idea to eliminate the topic titles.
They never really worked and it encouraged people to skip
over some that didn't seem appealing. If you're going to
post, you should expect to read everything that gets posted.
Everything. Constantly. If you can't keep up you drop to the
bottom. Hell, let's just get rid of scrolling too. In order
to get back up to the top you have to read each message as
you go by. This will cut down on long-winded sarcastic
postings by people who only log in once a week and kick
really old threads back to the top. kind of a modern skew on
neo-darwinism. And if you don't get it, you shouldn't be
listening to IDM and posting on this board, 'cause this
board is for those who already know. xltronic will be even
more rigorous in it's weeding out of people who are not
where they belong.

Some people make topics that only apply to themselves....you
would think, "ok what do I write?"

But it also could have been a slow day on the site.

how about if a thread is like 3 pages deep, you can just go
straight to page 3?

if it aint broke dont change it (or whatever the fug)

i like the layout of the message board and getting rid of
the topics seems rather insane to me, which probably means
it seems sensible to everyone else

and i think you should have more horse features on the new
site, especially pantomime horses who always seem to be left
out or pushed to the back

visible but prevent any more posts on them?
If so....let's lure some arse-hole in here, lock the thread
door........and run like buggery!!
