which do you like more?

Sandy from canada on 2001-03-25 08:12 [#00001454]

Ventolin or Analogue Bubblebath 1? I believe that Ventolin
is one of the greater AFX releases out there. Its a very
paranoid, sketched out piece. Not to say that AB1 is bad..
its a great album. So which is it to you guys?.

Glitch from New Zealand on 2001-03-25 11:23 [#00001464]

Well, to be honest Ive only heard Ventolin and the Remixes,
but from every thing else Ive got its Richards "Newer"
tracks I like better, and I dont think much of Polygon
Window and some of his other Aliases, but thats just me : )

AFXDUB from canada on 2001-03-25 12:17 [#00001467]

i like all of richard d jame;s shit. its all good for me. i
like the ventolin album a lot, the analogue bubblebaths are
wicked.. caustic window shit is great, its all good! as far
as the question goes, i still enjoy the VENTOLIN remix album
the best

Earface from England on 2001-03-25 13:52 [#00001475]

I'm a tosser sometimes

D-Hex from KC Missouri on 2001-03-25 21:43 [#00001488]

Ive been known to skip around quite a bit on polygon and
caustic window. Some of the tracks are just plain nasty in
my opinion. Quoth is one that i am not a fan of.

AFXDUB from canada on 2001-03-25 22:00 [#00001494]

I like polygon window alot, but i really love the work he
does uner Caustic Window, i just think its so rough and..
yet very catchy.

SAW 1 is my fave, but im just being nostalgic.

I'd have to say that Port Rhombus and the Live version of
Heliosphan get my rocks off the most...

alan flifton from outer mongolia on 2001-03-26 11:51 [#00001532]

how did that get in there twice?

gristmill from Inyourmom on 2001-03-26 17:38 [#00001540]

XePhA88: Unfortunately, Port Rhombus is by squarepusher,
off his Big Loada LP

XePhA88 from San Jose, CA on 2001-03-26 21:56 [#00001550]

Gristmill: Really? I mean, I thought it was an Aphex
Twin/Squarepusher Duet... cause the melody totally has that
jazzy squarepusher feel to it, but the drums, damn that
sounds like richard. I don't remember where I heard that it
was both of them, but shit, if that is just squarepusher, I
gotta checkout his other albums. I got 'Music is One Rotted
Note' but I did not care for it much... too much jazz for
me.. thanks for the tip d00d

liminal from Boston on 2001-03-26 22:54 [#00001561]

Yeah, I'd highly recommend Big Loada, tons of great tracks,
including Come on My Selector, Journey to Reedham, Massif
and Problem child. As for duo work, I know the track
"Freeman Hardy Willis Acid" is a squarepusher/AFX collab.
--that's a mindblowing one (unfortunately not on this album)

AFXDUB from canada on 2001-03-27 01:21 [#00001571]

The best squarepucher album yes, is Blig Loada, or Feed Me
Weird Things, The best Uziq albums are Tango N' Vectif,
Bluff Limbo and Lunatic Harness, Best Photek Album is Modus
Operandi, and the best wagonchrist album is tallyho, the
best AFX album is ventolin or the caustic window collection.
the best autechre album is amber or the self titled one.
There are many more great groups that i could list such as
orbital or the orb... so on and so on.

XePhA88 from San Jose, CA on 2001-03-27 02:20 [#00001578]

damn guys, i gotta expand my horizons.. thanks for all the
tips. I've gotten into orbital lately, but all the other
stuph AFXDUB just listed, i've never heard off. hellzz
yeah...

AFXDUB from canada on 2001-03-27 06:05 [#00001586]
