He he, dutch pronunciation of jand :)

I remember a dutch girl I knew calling my mate's sister
Jessica, "yessica".

Don't you and your sister have the same initials? That would
make it confusing with initalled clothes etc. when you were
little :)

English people often think it's pronounce "serry".

It's pronounced the same as the english name "Kerry". It's
just the Welsh version and can be applied to either gender
(mainly male), whereas the english version is mainly applied
to females.

One of my teachers names was Ceri, and he had a wierd
accent...he left the school following a nervous breakdown
six months later. It was quite bad actually, but funny.

I'm not sure that 'Ceri' is mainly a male name in Wales. I
know about 15 people called Ceri, one of which is my sister,
and only two of them are male.

full-school asembly..

Keeled over and then was dead when he hit the floor...

In my time I've known 6 male Ceris (including myself) and 3
female Ceris.

Up the valleys it is definately more a man's name. Probably
the english influence in Cardiff is altering the trend...

In front of the entire school (> 1000 kids)...

very weird...

funny thing is they didn't stop the Assembly...that's so
disrespectful I reckon...

I won't tell you here what they are as I feel just a wee bit
guilty about sharing em but's it's quicker than dling em off
