A few weeks ago I discovered 'Music for Airports'.
I really love its atmosphere.
So peaceful.....
It almost made me cry.
But that's all I know from him.
Are all his albums this beautiful?
What songs should I check?

oh,and...Does anyone know where he is from?
I heard he's from Belgium,but I can't believe that.

ENO's from England, I believe...

Have a listen to "Another Green Day"...that's beautiful,
like MforAirp...

check out this book by him if you want to know more about
what he's about...recommended...A Year With Swollen Appendices"...

Also try anything from "On Land."

Apollo is nice also, but it's a different style.

many of the things I've downloaded from him are verrrrry
weird, but try An Ending (Ascent) Its an incredibly
beautiful track.

ive been really getting into eno for the past few
months...apollo's probably my favorite (aside from the 2 or
3 country style guitar tracks) with with music for airports
and on land not too far behind...you should also look for
the plateau of mirror (ambient 2) and the pearl which he did
with harold budd...in the same style as ambient 1 ..they're
both beautiful made mostly with processed piano..

if your looking for a few tracks to try...get 'always
returning' 'an ending' and 'drift' from apollo.. and 'their
memories' and 'against the sky' from either the pearl or
plateau of mirror...

...and is 'another green world' an ambient album...or is it
more like his rock stuff?

Eno was in Roxy Music for their first 3 albums I believe.
it isn't electronic but it is really cool. interesting song
structures and peculiar melodies. I'd suggest the first LP
'Roxy Music'

Yeah, I've been meaning to get some Eno, but my hard drive
is full and spending money is a distant memory. Is his
ambient stuff better than SAW2's?

Brian Eno's ambience is way better than SAWII

Really? I love SAW2 madly, so now I'm expecting a lot...
I'll get Music for Airports first, sounds spiffy.

1-1 and 1-2 are AWESOME! really long peices (around 15 min
and 12 min respectivly) but oh my...the subtle very slow
piano is ... *drowns in his own pool of saliva*

I have On Land, which I think it better then SAWII for
ambient, but yes they are totally different... I haven't
much been into the album recently though, but it's still
very good... it's very visual, and creates all these crazy
images in your head... I think about The Lion King, and The
Jungle Book movies a lot when listening... as strange as it
might seem, that's kinda cool... :)

I'm sure this won't go over that well but... I really was
not all that impressed with Music for airports 1-1 or 1-2.
They are pretty piano melodies, yes, but seem a bit
longwinded and boring in the long run. Brian Eno has done
some incredible ambient pieces, but these 2 works alone do
not top SAWII IMO.

well no...but they are nice...and i think id listen to them
over hearing something from SAWII...depends on how i feel.
i havn't listened to SAWII for a long time now...

I can't get into Eno's stuff with lyrics. His ambient stuff
is great though.
