This movie looks fucking AWESOME... I was downloading it off Soulseek when it crashed, then I deleted it... I refuse to watch an incomplete movie. Fuckin' shame, the transfer was at like 120kb/s! Has anyone watched it? Looked at imbd.com, and DAMN it looks extreme. 42 students on an island, given guns, and forced to kill each other until 1 stands... everyone else must die... *salivates |

I DOES sound like something I'd do, I'm crazy like that... of course it's a JAPANESE movie, everyone would be too wimpy to make something like that over here. I'd like a bit of the ol' ultraviolence right about now. But DAMN Soulseek, I had half of it. |

Like Bart Vs The Space Mutants for the NES? That game was pretty cool, spraypainting all the purple stuff back to their original color (perhaps a subtle jab at homosexuals?) and using X-ray specs to pick out the aliens. Good stuff. |

Have seen Series Seven:the Contenders. They nail that whole "Reality TV" thing right down to the cheesy bio-clips! Awesome deep dark satire! RENT IT RENT IT RENT IT! I doubt you can find it on-line...? |

Battle Royale is great. go see it It's really brutal, but it has a lot of dark humour wich makes it a bit more bearable... |

I went to see Battle Royale at the cinema,It is a really good movie[most horrible bit-schoolboy gets stabbed a few times in the nuts]and is a lot better than series 7:contenders[but this is an alright movie as well].Actually there`s so many nasty bits-psycho-teacher Beat Takeshi throwing a knife into schoolgirls head,and then pulling it out,or when he blows up a schoolboys head-just to prove a point.It is actually very funny.......didnt they ban it in america? |

I saw it weeks ago. it's fun ! and it's quite interesting because it's like a synthese of the ingredients used in recent nippon films : very violent action but very simple sentimental topics, and 'clin d'oeils' to manga or videogames. (err what's the english word for clin d'oeil ? it means a joke or an apparition wich refers to another precedent film or bd or whatever) |

Yeah, the British release of Battle Royale on DVD by Tartan Asia Extreme. And it's Region 0 which is really cool! DVD Review magazine gave it a good review and I'm looking forward to seeing it. I've got Series 7 on DVD but I'm yet to watch it (Well, I kinda started watching it to see what it was like and ending up watching 40 minutes of it). |

I wouldnt watch Audition expecting a Battle Royale type of movie,as it is slow moving and there is no violence until the final scenes[obviousy its a lot more shocking if you dont know whats going to happen]but it is a good movie[if you like japanese movies I would recommend Beat takeshi`s films] |

Awesome... Soulseek is back up, and I just got Spiderman and Battle Royale DVD rips off it... this'll be a fun movie going night, gonna get out the popcorn. I wish I had a girlfriend. :-l |

I'm watching it right now, it's kind of disappointing, thought it would be better. It has a cheap feel, and the concepts are rather silly. It's more funny than anything else. |

Battle Royale rules, loved it, far better than anything hollywood is making right now. Most of the best recent films i've seen are either independant or foreign. |

They don't all have guns. In fact, most *don't* have them. There's other weapons such as crossbows, stun-guns, knives etc. Obscure fact: the book it's based on is set in a world where Germany and Japan won WW2. |

also, look out for the re-release of the film "the year of the sex olympics" at the end of this month despite the title its not porn but a 'reality TV' film from 1968, where a family (dad, mum, girl) are sent on an island with a serial killer for TV entertainment |
