Prodigy haters???

Question: Why do you hate Prodigy so much? Is it just Maxim
and Keith you hate or is it all of them, or just Liam? I
think Liam is great, and i really did not mind their new
single to be honest. Liam is a brilliant music mind...whther
or not he is influenced by The Sex Pistols or Rage against
the Machine

BTW You can compare Liam and Richard...but its like
comparing John Major and Carmen Electra...they are totally
different people with totally different ideas, and this case
ideas in music.

I like Prodigy, I'm not a huge fan, but I think
they're pretty good. I don't get why people here hate them
so much either.

Well im not saying everyone hates them, but quite a few
peeps on this board do

I think Liam kicks ass...my girlfriend's family is really
close with Mike Champion (thier manager) and i might get to
meet Liam if things go well

I don't like their production... it's too glossy and
professional, or something... their pretty simple and
formulaic, too. You know exactly what you're gonna get when
you listen to them, whereas you get a new Autechre or Aphex
CD and wonder what the hell you're in for...

I'm gonna ask him if i meet him if he still likes Aphex Twin
(because in the album 'Experience' by the Prodigy inlay, it
credits Aphex Twin) HAPPY DAYS

Good point Ophecks

But still, i love Liam's ideas

oh...BTW good luck with the interview...if you haven't
already gone for it

I like the prodigy tho the lyrics ain't up to what they used
to be of late. It's too soon to say if I'll stay with their
music. One thing that really annoys me is the track Their
Law, That's wrote (not just sampled) by Pop will eat itself
only the Pop will eat itself version is much better. It has
the same backing track more or less but much better lyrics
IMO. If anyone wants to here the original you will have to
get a bootleg CD as Their Law (BY Pop will eat itself) is on
an unreleased album due to come out in... 1996, but it
didn't. Prodigy have been there since day one on the Rave
scene tho and I only hope they have some better tricks up
their sleeve then the passable 'Baby's got a temper'

Also, didn't the prodigy run off with one of Aphex twin
synths or something?

you namecheck Carmen Electra. Props, dude!

Can't really be arsed with em nowadays...they don't seem to
have moved on at all...

A bit sad really, as I used to go out raving with em and
went to a lot of early gigs in Braintree & the rest of Essex
but nowadays you don't see anything of em in Braintree...

But Leeroys always cool and says "Hi", I went to school
with him for years but haven't seen him for ages &
ages...(apart from on TV)...

I think they've got AFXs 303...I wonder if they nicked it
off him when he came to Braintree to do an early gig in
1992...the club was a right fuckup and some people fucked
off with all the money so people were walking off with bits
of club/soundsystem/records etc as payment for the
night...so big trouble really...

'Twere a cool club for a good few weeks tho...Prodigy opened
it up on the first night...

i hate prodigy as a a band because a apart from liam howlett
the other members don't do anything which is really
important.i like their music expecially the old records even
if i've always been a chem bros fan much more than a prodigy
fan...nothing to share with aphex or ae style that's true

I don't think anyone here 'hates' them,well i hope not. I
think everyone here has at least one cd by them('..Jilted
Gen.,at least).Maybe they have just left it a bit too
long. They certainly could do with a bit more experimentation
which members here seem to love(and crave). They are a tad
formulaic as Ophecks said, and you just can't scream
contraversial stuff into a mic anymore and expect a shocked
result. A lot less covers on 'Kerrang' would do for
starters.Expect the new one to sell bucketloads, the 'charts'
are shit as usual.rant over.}:>

I haven't heard Baby's got a temper yet so I can't comment
on the new Prodigy, but in my opinion Experience is a great
album. Weather Experience is amazing!

them
