I love "Mae West".

Salvador Dali is made of crack.

I do not know what the name is of this particular piece, but
it has these elephants with really, really long limbs and it
looks frightening, almost. Maybe someone else would know
what I am talking about?

He had several paintings depicting the long-legged
elephants.. Offhand I can think of two : 'The Elephants',
which simply has two of the creatures on opposite sides of
the painting facing each other, and 'The Temptation of
St.Anthony', which has a long procession of the stilt-limbed
beasts lead by a giant horse.

'The Sublime Moment' is my favorite work of his. More of a
fundamental truth than a painting really..

Any other favorite surrealists? I'm partial to Desmond
Morris, Joan Miro, and Max Ernst - particularly his "Europe
After the Rain" painting.

I like the one with all the melting shapes and piece of
bread and the bee and if you blur your eyes you can see it
all looks like a lady but all the while it's a scene from
the bible but in geometric figures and the name he named it
is like this really literal discription of what it is.

him?...similar to dali but more abstract..

I am very fond of Max Ernst's work. I had prepared a gallery
of some of my favorites here a few years ago
www.angelfire.com/ny2/cwood. Does anyone else follow Romare
Bearden?

My favorite Dali piece is "The Metamorphis of Narcosis". I
had a poster of it when I was a kid and when I saw the
original I was amazed at the size of it. My poster was at
least twice the size and it still had increadable detail.

Dali isn't my favorite surrealist, you should check out
Merrit Oppenhiem she is fantastic.
