I passed my driving test!

YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

just now about 20 mins ago!!

The guy was and old bloke, and started talking to me about
the weather. And then he asked what i wanted to do at uni,
and i told him "software Eng" and he started having a go at
me saying, "the computer revolution was 10 years ago you're
too late now. Bricklayers get paid more money than you
will!".

so i thought what a dickhead, hes gonna be a bastard for the
whole 45 mins.

then, after a few left and right turns, i noticed we were
heading back into the test center, where he told me i
passsed! with 5 minors!!! i was like YEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

no more driving lessons... my own car.... ahhhhh..........
my independence...

Well done. It's one of the best feelings knowing you've done
it and can pull handbrakes.

I did pass plus too. It was worth it, not just for the
insurance, but it got rid of that, "Oh man, I'm in the
car on my own"freaky feeling.

Congratulations Grinning Cat!

revolution. You'll do fine.

What's Pass Plus? How much does it cost to do? How
difficult is it? How much does it reduce insurance by?

Thank you everyone!! Yes it's a great feeling, especially as
only 2 days ago i was really depressed and thinking i will
fail, as id hardly practiced due to exams. But i thought id
keep my balls on and give it my best shot, and i passed,
whehey!!

Im also thinking of getting that 'pass plus' crap although
the thought of even more lessons dosent really help! I'll
have to see how much money it will get me off insurance
first!

im also slighly anxious about being on the road by myself,
with no instructor to stop me if i'm getting in the wrong
lane! but i think ill be ok. I'll drive ok as long as i
don't put 'Go Plastic' on!

Tasos: get a car before u forget how to drive!

Princo: move to the UK and i'll be ur driver!

Manicminer: goto www.passplus.org.uk

cheers dudes!

do they test you in parallel parking there? alot of the
states here don't make you parallel park to pass anymore, i
find that quite silly. you goto most major cities and
knowledge of parallel parking is almost a necessity.

They didn't test me, I can't parallel park in most
situations. If I NEED to parallel park in a fairly tight
space... well then I'll find a different parking spot
farther away from my destination. Nobody knows I can't do
this, I fear the day when I'm driving with someone and my
secret is exposed.

I failed my first driving test when I went through a yellow
light at the very intersection right before I reached the
government building and the end of my test, but I passed my
second one despite almost scraping up against a bus. Huh.

Pull up beside the car. One full turn of the steering wheel
and reverse until you're at about 45º. Bring the wheel back
to the middle and reverse until your wheel is about a foot
from the curb. Then one full turn of the steering wheel in
the other direction and reverse. I think its easy if you
break it into three parts.

i usually cut the wheel all the way when turning back. but,
eh, dif'rent strokes.

you should try not to turn the steering wheel when the car
isn't moving.

it puts too much strain on the axel and can severely banjax
it.

offline Dannn_ from United Kingdom on 2007-02-26 10:02 [#02055409]
Points: 7877 Status: Lurker | Followup to redrum: #02055406

well when you can do it you dont need to stop, but its just
a way of learning that worked for me. I assume banjaxxing is
a bad thing.
