i'm 13 and am about to embark on the temptations of drugs and whatnot, i wanna know if i'm stupid for trying weed maybe once or twice and that's it. i think it might be fun to kinda do once and not do it again, your thoughts? |

I'm 13, I'm waiting till I'm maybe 17 or 18, I'll try it, I'll probly end up smokin' weed every now and then. I won't ever touch the chemical drugs, like E and K and whatnot. NEVER. w00t! |

AND: trust me, im in my last year of high school.. and starting from a young age (almost as young as you) ive seen a lot of people's lives (some friends too) SERIOUSLY basically RUINED with drugs! (im talking to an example on msn right now) so be very careful... |

I don't do them, but I'm not particularly ANTI drug... I just hate them, personally. I don't need them... I'm never bored. And I seriously believe they are not good for your brain... yeah, there's lots of smart drug users that DON'T abuse them and DON'T get fucked up, but, Jesus Christ, I know that personally, the people I know that are on drugs are a notch below the ''clean'' ones on the evolutionary scale... |

if u do start..... make sure u dont start being friends w/ people JUST beacuase u both do drugs together.... i notice that a lot the only thing they have in common are drugs... and b/c of that they sort of keep each other doing them, so its hard to stop.... and when u do, u realize they aren't real friends and u stop haning around w/ them and u have to find new ones... i dont know this from personal experience but from a lot of friends |

it could have positve outcomes or negative outcomes or both. i know some people who tried weed once or twice and didn't get anything out of it so they don't smoke it. but me i smoked it my first time and new right away i loved it. |

no man, a very high percentage of the people i know who do drugs (regularly) have seriously messed up their lives but then some people do drugs but are very smart and FUCTIONAL and they actually have a future so of course it wont neccessarily mess up ur life but it REALLY could so just be careful is all im sayin a lot of young people feel all 'invincible' or whatever (u know its one of those stupid cliches but its true) and its not like i have the most experience or anything, but still;) |

dude i never did any drugs while i was in school and only started smoking pot after i graduated at parties and after i moved out to make new friends. everyone has given out some great advice. fuck i could tell you about 6 out of 10 people back where i grew up in riverside county turned into total druggies and are completely fucked! when we were alll younger kids and shit i thought those were some of the coolest people too! and to see them like how they are now i just can't fucking believe it if i had half of the talent that they had i would have been like rich or famous by now. and i've tried to stop smoking pot i can do it but just not like forever i will always relapse i can't imagine a time when i woudl always turn it down. you have to know yourself bro after i became addicted to masturbation i knew i should never do drugs cause i wouldn't be able to stop myself so i guess to test it i smoked pot and luckily very very very luckily i haven't gone any further but boy o boy have there beeen some really reall really tempting times with acid and shrooms that it amazes me my own will power. |

I've been there! And back! And then went there again! My point was that while, yes, it can be a wonderful place to visit, there isn't really anything there worth bringing back (read Buroughs, Welsh, Thompson, etc. if you want proof). even trying to bring it back is an excercise in futility. Altered States are just that, states that function differently than "normal"...we zone out all the time...if you've been at you screen for more than two minutes you're probably in one now. Try getting that Zone elsewhere...you can't...and it's essentially useless anywhere else, too! You don't need an umbrella indoors (with a few unlikely exceptions, of course) and fish don't ride bicycles (or play drums!) |

look it's like this: you have 2 paths do it now or wait. if you do it now you'll have the time of your life and will have lots of memories that other people will envy. BUT you could end up being a junkie and have your life destroyed, but if you save yourself at the right time it all would be worthy. second path: is wait or never do it. if you choose this you'll never have the risk of becoming a junkie. but you'll envy your friends tales about how much fun they had from age 13 to 16. |

OK got it. Though I h8 all the memories of my friends now cuz I realize what made them so cool and funny was that no sane person would do what they did while on drugs. But 13 would be a nice age to start throwing your life away. tell us how it goes |
