consistent.

DSL is good to be fair.
Being on a 100mbps university network is even better though
=)

I have Ameritech DSL, I get about 70 to 80k/sec download,
and 16k/sec uploads. Everyone I talk to gets much better
speeds with their cable.

At any rate it's going to be way better than your 56k. When
I first got DSL I barely slept for like 3 days.

"Not as fast as cable, but more reliable and
consistent. "

I find the exact opposite, its faster but not as reliable
and consistent.

'Digital Subscriber Line' or something. How fast is cable
compared to DSL?

everyonr says cable is faster but it only gives you like 150
kb a sec or less and its very inconsistent and more
expensive, ameritech guarantees like 765kb but no one ever
seems to get close to that. whats the deal?

I have DSL. I download songs from Soulseek at about 60 kbs
at a good time, 90 at the absolute most. Usually more like
35-40.

Is this good? How could anyone get 765, is that POSSIBLE!??!

Either way, getting DSL made me even more antisocial than I
already was. I lub it.

I wish England would join the 21st century and roll out DSL
pronto. Can't get it in my area at the moment. Same with
cable.

I can get like 100 k/sec uploads on soulseek, and have been
downloading at 1 - 200 k/sec from people on my CABLE.

w00t!

Getting DSL has actually been a step down in my
antisociality, because now people can call me while I'm
online and make me leave my house.
