i'll probably encode it for someone to d/l at an amazing
speed of 1kbps (but its better than nothing)

i just ordered that on the strength of the mp3 samples. the
first bit of the sample is especially cool.
also ordered astrobotnia pt1 and envane (Ae).

it's a bit strange that pt2 is vinyl only...where's the
continuity?

it's continuous for vinyl buyers, but yeah it is weird that
pt2 is only on vinyl. Gonna order it NOW too.

do you think that if record companies started releasing
records on vynil it woul dmake file sharing less popular?

i mean there's no ideal way to convert analogue to digital.

a lot of quiality'd be lost AND not everyone would be able
to do it (or more people would be lazy)

ive got loads of mp3s i've made from vinyl, and as i said
i'll probably encode astrobotnia pt 2 for the peeps who want
it :)

are you kidding? i have tons of mp3's ripped from vinyl and
they sound great.

people are too lazy to change a record over though as well.
People (in general) nowadays just want to stick a CD on and
let it play. Don't want to have to fuss with different
speeds (even tho there are only two) and having to turn a
record over halfway through. I mean, how archaic!

i wonder if they may release it on mp3 secretly on the net
after theyve sold shed loads of vinyl?

offline earthleakage from tell the world you're winning on 2002-06-27 23:02 [#00287666]

there are 4 speeds

16
33
45
78

although ive never seen a record that played at 16 rpm, i
think they stoppped making them in the 50s
