They are about 100 miles away from me. It's been so dry
here, no rain that I can remember since January or earlier.
I have a feeling there will be more fires this summer.

See other thread regarding the reason we are having the
worst fires ever

*cough* Sierra Club *cough*

Aren't the Monsoons due soon down there though? Is that a
July or August event? Hope they help those fire fighters

we have this HAZE from all the fires engulfing New Mexico at
the moment, and people with upper respiratory problems are
encouraged NOT to go outside!!!

i have asthma....so i've felt not quite right these last few
days. today was especially bad....coughing etc. so many
people have lost their homes and flying over it is
horrifying.....you can only see the smoke.

it's a real tragedy.....especially how it was started.
people need to consider that they are in a desert and we are
having a DROUGHT! =(

i remember in 1995 in eastern WA there was a lightning
strike in the woods and it rained ash for a few days
straight. that was pretty weird.

NM is great.....the high desert is really beautiful. i love
that it's not full O peeps.....i can always go to more
populated cities......but i like living where there are NOT
too many people! =0)

i don't mind the scarcity of people too much =). AK is even
more so like that.

yeah, i've often wondered about the scenery. maybe i'll go
there for college graduate studies, but it'll be a few
years.
