"Writers block comes from giving too much of a fuck what other people think" Very well stated, you hit the nail right on the head.

most of the time, my 'writers block' only lasts about a day or 1.6, then i pluck some inspiration from nowhere and write like 3 songs a day..
usually when i'm frustrated with not being able to write good melodies/beats/chords/whatever i just load psp7 and do some digital art, or play quake3 for about 3 hours or so..
also listen to other peoples music, i find that i get inspired rather than ripping off other peoples tracks..
if all that fails, just stare at a block of cheese for 4.382981037389257234E++ hours, you should be able to crawl by then.
i dont usually bother with making sounds/textures until i actually start writing the track, that way i can make something that fits the melody/chords easier..
my usual song bpm: between 60 and 240..

I keep a folder full of damaged goods..loops..samples..beats..riffs..whatever..when ever I am running short on inspiration I raid it..and start throwing the oddest of the lot together...this collision sparks synapses......
I dunno.. also mostly I have certain albums I put on that get juices flowing...a hint..these are not the smoothest most easy flowing albums...
Confield is one

Me too, 3 of my best tracks were made the same day while I was up all night working on coursework.

I don't know,.he's pretty commercial tho. Use 2 make nice jungle/drum & bass music with especially skilled production.
Lately he has released a Hip hop album.
check out that 'circles' song of him,..it's a classic

why dont you learn an instrument (guitar, keyboard whatever) and get some friends together and jam for a while.. make sure you record it because you might come up with some interesting melodies...
flea: confield is a normal sounding album for me.. i'm so used to listening to / making that sort of music its not funny

learning an instrument = sumptin'I'm still working on,.luckily I have some skilled guitar playing friends that come over and jam once in a while.
But they have troubles understanding my music,.so I end up sampling their solo's,..and raping the waves in wavelab.
