Gotta love FLW......and his words of wisdom....EVENthough his furniture is very very uncomfy! *blinks furiously*

TV is chewing gum for the eyes.

FLW was a great architect, but I dont know why, I dont like it as much as other old geniouses (van der rhoe, corbu, aalto...)
the quote anyway its just great... I didnt know it... more than chewing gum, now tv is more like acid for the brain

i agree.....with your assessment of FLW
and with the TV assessment as well.
FLW was innovative for sure, but he's not the GOD people make him out to be.

I'm a student in archtecture, and I'm really digging the whole Prairie movement. I'm trying to figure out a way to create a neo-prairie style for our modern times. I hate about 90% of all residential housing, I feel it's bland and caters to the uneccesary needs of people "Oh it feels like an old castle therefore it's expensive".
FLW is my mentor.

Anyway nacmat, how do you relate to LeCorbusier being more liked by you than somebody like FLW? Ok both have had failures in their architecture, but LeCorbusier just tried too darmn hard, his theories are flawled and most of his created ideas are simply baaaaad.
Or is it the pure emotion of the buildings by LC vs. FLW?

better do something instead of thinking about how to create another neo wave in architecture. bleh, architects will never change - mambling all the way.

I just prefer le corbusier to frank
his buildings are exciting for my brain
frank´s architecture is boring for me... but I respect him and wish I had his brain

its something what i got on my studies, unfortunately. i dont like when some ppl are not mentioned while they should be, you know wbout who im talking. plus the fact, that for me its just about building, without any philosophical extensions. its allways a bit l;augh for me when i read about "wcreations of neo styles for modern architecture". its a waste of time for me, mambling about how some curves and straight lines makes space more philosophical. thats all.

if you dont understand doesnt mean that its stupid or vanal... architecture is not only technical, its also art... you like it or not
the fact that you dont understand it explains why oyu are what you are and not an architect... diferent people are valid for diferent things in life

It's art, therefore it can be categorised. I'm sorry but De Stijl is not Neo-gothical, whatever it's a building or not.
Aestical aspects of building is more than important, it shapes society and society shapes it.
