offline B3n from Manchester (United Kingdom) on 2002-06-17 21:34 [#00271285]
Points: 4700 Status: Lurker

maybe whats more important is what makes other countries
NOT....america seems to be very commercialised, I know
britain is, but its the way america does it, get
manufactured acts into everything, film soundtracks etc. not
a breeding ground for talent. that's why hip hop probably
came from the ghettos.

though, just IMO

idon't think you really hear about them because they are
not english speaking - and people like to hear songs they
don't have to translate - but electronic music get's round
this - krafwerk /daft punk / neu / pole/ y'know european but
still really emotional and complex - i have a thing for
serger gainsborg though and my girlfroend has some records
by french girl singers that are totally sexy and funky

Jazz was created in the US, as was blues, without which
there would be no rock music. I think that says a lot, but
I don't think this argument can be solved heh
