Laquero: do you have any questions about XP or you need
advice, or I can close topic as well?
Sorry for the sarcasm, but I feel provocation in the air...

I'm on someone else's computer right now, using XP for the
first time ever...

I fucking hate it. What a fluffy piece of crap. I can't wait
'till I can get back to my comfy Windows 98, where I know
I'm loved.

By the way, doesn't ''XP'' look like a dead guy with his
tongue sticking out? That always makes me smile.

What's better about XP that I don't know about? Cuz granted,
I've only been using it 20some minutes. I like how the image
folders are thumbnailed.

Who's computer? Do they know? Have you broken into their
house?

I think you can turn off most of the fluff and eye candy and
make it look more like 98 or 2000.

Fluffy? XP is solid as a rock most of the time and if you
don't like the new interface you just switch back to the
classic view and it looks almost exactly like 98.

Technically it is a much much much better OS than 98...I
would never go back now, and I loved 98SE.

98SE stinks.....get an upgrade Ophecks, XP is the way....

*waves MS flag*

:)

If it was mine, I'd certainly make it look 98ish! But I'm
not going to screw with their settings though.

OK, I take back my harsh words... actually looking at the
properties, you're right! I'm at my aunt's, and they have it
so that all the icons in a folder are about 400x400 pixels
or something. And the Start Menu looks like the inside of an
ass.

How do I go about upgrading to XP? Is there a free way where
I can fuck Bill over? I'm not paying for this, but I
wouldn't mind having it.

First thing I did on mine was change it to the classic view
with the classic start menu...I hate that new style.

heh you could always acquire a copied corporate copy with a
serial number. That way you avoid the whole WPA (copy
protection) shit they tried to do.

Well if you plan on "fucking Bill over" you could always do
that with a little help of a program called Kazaa (which I
don't really recommend because of all the bogus filenames
there) or Direct Connect or something like that. Now, note
that I'm not in any way trying to persuade Ophecks to get a
pirated copy of XP... But if he does, he should be aware
that there is a so called "keygen" out there that will
generate a Product Key for you so that you can download
updates from Windows Update.
Damn, I'm too tired... Someone else will have to help you
out.

Post... is that like the British version of mail? Hell yeah,
I'd be interested, thanks! You'd totally be immune to
banning then. ;-)

I'll E-mail you when I get home then, Mr. Criminal.

To tell you the truth she fills both roles herself...but
some of the villigers have commented that she has two sexy
humps on the front and one on her back.

XP is nice, and it's fast.

Ok I have a computer related question.

I'm going off to college in September and i'm majoring in
computer graphics/animation and I want to buy a laptop.
Should I buy windows or mac (laptop)? I was thinking mac
but I know windows better than I know my first name. Is it
worth starting from scratch and learning a brand new OS?
Mac's just seem so cool and another thing to worry about is
prog/game compatibility.

What's your advice?

Get a Windows based PC if that is what you know best and it
is for general use...you can also get a lot more for your
money. The only times I would recommend a Mac is if you are
involved in professional media production of any kind...or
you go to university studying something music related and
you want to do website about yourself in the third person
and show off. :D

Also if you are planning on using "not 100% legal" software,
it is easier to get hold of Windows stuff (at least in my
experience)

Wow. WinME was the biggest pile crap ever programed in my
opinion. I love winxp. I used to have it classic style, but
I just re-installed it and just left it the 'Fluffy" way.
XP just works most of the time. It makes WinME look like
something I would program if I knew how. 98se isn't bad,
but XP has everything it does and then some. Though I'd
rather have the new version of windows that doesn't exist
yet.

XP rocks so hard compared to previous versions...I've used
every single version all the way back to 1.0 so believe me,
I KNOW...:)..

Turn off the UI fluff ..(I always keep CLEARTYPE ON..very
important on a TFT or laptop screen...)...and it's pretty
nippy as well...

And very solid...I recommend it to anyone who asks as it's
very nearly the version, Windows always should've been...

(Not perfect of course...but slowly getting there, for 90%
of people theres little better..)...
