ahem - i have the original records -
they're great but i saw em live recently in a reformed (ie
only the fat lead singer) state and they were fucking
terrible

shhh, i have to toss around words like electronica to get
people interested. anyway, ESG were really cool. "UFO" is
such a terrifying song, and it has lots of electronics in it
so that's why i felt justified in using the phrase. their
other stuff is great as well.

ESG are cool! their recently-ish, reissued album has their
classics. Is it UFO with the sampled to death intro? that
still sounds so amazing! The out of time drumming punk/funk
style is brilliant!

I know this is completely different but have you heard the
silver apples?

yea with the sampled to death intro, it's still a timeless
track tho. nothing can stop that.

no, what is the silver apples?

They're also a newyork band but definately more
electronic....I think the beastie boys released a
compilation of theirs....a few years back. The Cd booklet
is a good read about chance. try a search somewhere for
silverapples or silver apples....it's like rock sometimes
with tone modules and a live drummer.

you know what's funny? i have so many mp3's on my hard drive
that on an off chance i looked in my directory and i have
the following silver apples songs:

a pox on you
gypsy love
ruby
water

i'll listen to them now, i'm sure it's been a year. if i end
up liking these songs again which album do you recommend?

There is some crappy Ghetto rappa from Houston called ESG, I
think it stands for East Side Gangster or some shit....he
sucks.

Ever heard Tonto's Expanding Head Band??? They are a
trip....

nope, never heard (of) them

btw for anyone who cares, the silver apples songs are tight,
very psychedelic (especially the first 2 i listed)
