shhh, i have to toss around words like electronica to get people interested. anyway, ESG were really cool. "UFO" is such a terrifying song, and it has lots of electronics in it so that's why i felt justified in using the phrase. their other stuff is great as well.

ESG are cool! their recently-ish, reissued album has their classics. Is it UFO with the sampled to death intro? that still sounds so amazing! The out of time drumming punk/funk style is brilliant!
I know this is completely different but have you heard the silver apples?

They're also a newyork band but definately more electronic....I think the beastie boys released a compilation of theirs....a few years back. The Cd booklet is a good read about chance. try a search somewhere for silverapples or silver apples....it's like rock sometimes with tone modules and a live drummer.
