Im turning to the musicmakers here, and the rest of you
too. Which musicsoftware should I use, whats your favorite.
I have Reason and Fruityloops but I think those programs
does too much work of its own if you know what im saying.
Damn!, when I put on a song which i've made I dont
understand that its me that did it =). Kinda strange huh,
so. I tries Modplug Tracker And that was kinda good..I
think, but does anyone know a good program???

im currenlty in the process of selling my old hardware, and
buying new stuff... so currently all my tracks are done with
reason.

yes there is alot... but if you know how to work it, it
will come out how YOU want it, and not reason doing all the
work

i spend a good amount of time tweaking the sounds so its
exactly as i want it.

reason + fruity loops = practicaly pro quality music.

I can't see anything wrong with Reason, sure, "copying
patterns to track" all the time might feel a little too
automated but you can allways go back into the sequencer and
change things from there. After using Fastracker2 reason is
pure bliss

banks...

okey, Zeus. But as you say, that you can change every sound
into another, that means that you have unlimited sounds
right? =)

i got the soundbank off kazaa, believe it or not

reason is cool.... but i dunno... i dont like that there are
such a limited num. of instruments
i know u can rewire it through cubase, but it wont work for
me

i recently 'got' (d/l-ed) SONAR 2..... it looks really
amazing but i cant even get it to play sounds yet! very
frustrating... i think its a soundcard thing, but it works
for the demo songs!
AND i followed the directions from teh manual exactly
can anyone help me?

welllll.....

to an extent... yes.

i mean, eventually things might seem alittle too alike...
but for a long while, i think its possible to create really
different and orignal sounds.

but like i said, im using reason just in my spare time...
and im trying to get new equipment. sure ill still use
reason with my other stuff...

but yeah, i wouldnt say reason can last forever..

different sources

What about Acid anyone?? I personally think it's an obsolete
peiece of shit. . . Fruity Loops can do EVERYTHING that
Reason and Acid can do, and it makes everything much easier
and simpler.

Someone saying fruity loops better than gdamn reason. This
opinion is not well researched. I strongly disagree.

use CUBASE SX and get all the VST instruments you can get. I
used to use Reason before but now recently i switched over
to Cubase. Reason is more limiting whereas Cubase has so
many more possibilties (VST BABY)

yeah, i can see how the pluggins could be more versitile...

but reason comes all in one package...

im gonna be getting Logic... does it support vst?

if not... i hope that there are other good plguins for it!

offline AlbertoBalsalm from Reykjavík (Iceland) on 2002-08-21 08:16 [#00358393]

you can use both cubase and reason togeather through rewire
which i do occasionally.

like zeus, i also was playing 4 years drums. now i use
fruityloops 3.56, wavelab, soundforge, recycle, t-racks 24,
many vst's & vsti's like reaktor, fm7. also hardware, akai
s2000 (selled) alesis mmt8 8track hardware midi sequencer,
evolution uc-16 midi controller, boss dr770 drummachine, an
old yamaha psr510 keyboard, a 16 ch behringer 2004 mixer and
a midima delta 2496 recordingcard. just use what u want,
test everything you can, each soft/hardware has some uniqe
options..

oh yeah, cubase of course, fruityloops can be slave since
3.5, vsti rules ;)

but does Logic support vst?

offline map from mülligen (Switzerland) on 2002-08-21 08:51 [#00358412]

yes it does, the most, and it's one of the best sequencer
for live manipulating.

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2002-08-21 08:53 [#00358416]

sweet!

apparently the best software sampler, the exs24, is only for
Logic, which is why i want to get logic, and double bonus
that it can use vst! =)

i'm on the same way, i'm just out for a stable master
sequencer to control vsti's, and maybe logic would do the
job, cubase is a bitch to learn, but funny with hardware,
it's sick what you can do ONLY with the drum-editor..
