Do you listen to whole albums from beginning to end, or separate songs?
For me it's a bit of both... although with groups like BoC, Aphex Twin, Autechre, etc, it's usually beginning to end, because these albums flow nicely... but with some of my other cds, like greatest hits cds, it's just different songs I have a desire to listen to... it depends...
One thing I noticed though is what a difference the order makes... I've been listening to Geogaddi for months starting from the beginning and playing through, but last week I played it on random mode and it sounded strange... it didn't sound as good... maybe it's just that I'm used to the order it's in now, or maybe it's just that the way it's ordered is better, I dunno...

I listen to track 1 track 5 and track 8 on all lps first. then I listen to the lp from start to finish, but skipping all odd numbered tracks. then I listen to the entire album all the way thru but whilst I'm doing tantric yoga massage breathing exercises. the messages come thick and FAST

Individual tracks.....and when I buy new CDs I play a few seconds of each track when I first get it to get a feel for the CD, and then listen to it properly.

Totally randomly, my brain is constantly jumping around and coming up with a new listening plan.
This explains why I HATE CDs... I used to have to change CDs constantly, a pain in the ass... now I just click on whatever.
I just don't have the attention span or something... albums that were made to be ''albums'', listened to straight through, I always thought that was a crock of shit, even with AWESOME ''concept'' albums like the Wall and DSOTM. I just listen to whatever my brain fancies at the moment the song I'm listening to ends. There's usually some link between them, depending on my mood. This morning I was in a 60's art rock mood, lots of Beatles and Doors and Velvet Underground. I went from ''Heroin'' to ''The End'', weird jump from artist to artist, but they sounded cool back to back!

itunes is the shit
i usually do full albums, unless i'm in the mood for a certain song.
some times i fill my 5 cd tray thing with BoC:Geogaddi, Hi-Score, Music Has The Right to Children, Twoism, and either In a Beautiful Place... or Peel Sessions
and put it on total random. some times i hear the same songs, but thats alright wif me

Individual tracks, I like to control the buildup myself. I prefer using 2 playbackdevices to avoid silences or for mixing ambient with spoken word.

Thru my computer or on vinyl , the cd player on my stereo is broken , fucking irritating!!.
Daytime i blast it out very loud and night time its all headphones.
I hardly ever listen to a whole album thru , i listen to the tracks i like over and and over.
I only listen to a whole album if im doing stuff.
When im downstairs with the rest of the family i often put on some reaggy/dub/ska or old soul and funk like Sly And The Family Stone or Curtis Mayfeeld , my parents dig that shit and everybody is happy.
My mom loves ragga haha!! Whenever Beanie Man or stuff like that is played she turns up the volume and shakes her big 45 year old butt hahaha!!.

My style, and I did this last night listening to Chiastic, is laying in my bed before I go to sleep and listening to a cd in its entirety. I find this time is the best because no one can disturb me (as they're all asleep). I put on headphones and just enjoy. This is usually my serious listening time where I zone in on each song and try to hear everything.
Just casually though I'll listen to a track here or there off a cd thoughtout the day on either my headphones or over the speaker...and not very loud.

When i first get a CD i listen to the whole thing straight through.
If it REALLY kicks ass then I'll listen to it straight through all the time.
Although drukqs earns a perfect 10 outta 10 (IMO) I pick single songs to listen to. I think its because the tracks are different yet so similar. Are you confused yet?

i make play lists of mp3s of my favorite songs... for different moods
or ill just come home, and want to hear one certain song and ill play it
but as far as a cd alone, start to finish always
when i get new cds, i usually skip to each track to get a feel for it too, and then listen to it as a whole
but sometimes not
