i downloaded some videos from www.siketrike.com and am
trying to play them with the latest divx program "The Playa"
but it'll play the visual element only, no audio. is this
fixable? also is there anyway to upgrade WMP to divx 4.x
codec? it doesn't seem to recognize the new codec's been
installed cos it doesn't play videos that require the new
divx codec. thanks for any help..

too bad jand's gone :(

Do you have DiVX audio drivers? Did you download the entire
DiVX package? Are you shure the video is of good quality and
includes the audio?

yea i dl'd the divx package as linked on the above web site

WMP will play the audio but not the video cos WMP doesn't
detect the latest divx codec. the divx "playa" will play the
video but not the audio for whatever strange reason.

did you restart your computer after you installed?

Whether or not it asked you to?

Hhmm, the only thing I can think of, is to reboot your
computer agian, try it agian with BOTH players, then if that
doesnt work, get a DiVX audio driver from somewhere, install
it, then restart your computer yet agian.

If THAT doesnt work, im all out of ideas, sorry.

WAIT!!

Ive got another idea, if the movie is clean, and the audio
is included, then get a DiVX to AVI encoder and encode the
little fucker into AVI, then WMP SHOULD be able to play it,
audio and all.

just fuck about with downloading a new divx pack from
elsewhere and reinstalling, thanks for your suggestions

try getting the AC3 codec. It might be the codec you need.
