The Iceland topic has inspired this.
What nation do you think has the most raw musical talent, on the average?
I've lived in the USA, Ireland, England, Germany and Japan, and I'd say Ireland wins hands down.

Anyone who has been at Cardiff Arms Park when Wales are playing an international against England will know that the Welsh are not a musical nation.

I'm hoping to get perspectives from people who have lived in more than one country, because to get a feel for the local talent, you need to go out to the clubs and listen to street performers.

Of course we're all going to be really Eurocentric here becuse we are all sold Western music like we need it. Other peoples from around the world are marginalised and we don't get to hear their music, not to forget those who can barely survive let alone make music.
