I dont know about vickings in england... maybe the sccotish ...but originaly I am sure they come from norway, denmark...you know nordic countries... its even believed that they reached america before colon did |

The vikins where heathens from Scandinavia (the countries phobiazero mentions), who raped and pillaged all over europe, and some even say they where the first to discover america. (!) But basicly, the english where christians at that time, so the vikings thought it was funny to fuck them up. so if there are viking descendants in england, it would be because vikings raped them. (and that probably happened a lot.) But eventually they too got into christianity, the vikings. and here we are. |

Haha!! i read somwhere that french school books even to this day explain the vikings like this .... "The vikings came from such a cold boring and barbaric country that they left simply to relieve their boredom , steal some of Europes treasures and get some sun" This i partly true.... I would say Vikings where more like Muslims in that sence that they belived that the brave man fallen in battle gets to come to heaven (wich they called Valhalla) and the covard went to hell (Hel's kingdom). Now in scandinavia at that time the oldest brother inherited everything (the farm and land) The youngest sons had two choices:: 1. Stay home and start working on new land and build a new farm. 2. Join a local chief in his quest for treasures and adventures and maybe get to Valhalla where you get to fight all day without dying and fiest on meat and beer with fellow vikings . The choice was easy. The vikings where like the first marinesoldiers , the strenght was indeed the boat. They where excelent sailors aswell as soldiers who could navigate really well.They could row upstreams and attack in places no enemy had gone before. Before anyone had mobilised any kind of deffense or reinforsements the Vikings where alredy sailing away with a shipp full of treasures slaves and hostages. Some scientists even claims the vikings ate hallusigen (sp?) mushrooms before battle to fight more agressive. |
