everyone knows about autechre, aphex, boc, the pusher,
plaid, 2ls, devine, apc, prefuse73 pretty well. but what
about the less-talked about artists on warp?

i'm talking about jimi tenor, red snapper, vincent gallo,
nightmares on wax, broadcast, lidell, mira calix, plone and
others? are there any fans of these artists? if so, i'd
appreciate it if you would recommend an album. i want to
discover other warp artists.

i really love broadcast..Though this isn't an album, if you
can find extended play two (it's purple and has a track
called drums on fire) get this, it has an excellent
remodeling of a track off their major debut The noise made
by people..good cd too, in fact some of it is excellent, but
i'm not sure if i'm too keen on the production (they really
are starting to get that down recently with their eps)

Plone- beginner piano, is a very nice, simple album..If you
like old videogame music (who doesnt) and childish melodies,
it's perfect.."On my bus" is a haunting sort of spaghetti
western epic too, very nice..I kinda like the mira calix
pickle cd she released recently, it has some faults, but
some parts of it work, and her voice is kinda haunting in a
different way

That picture on the site, the same one as here is very
appealing, what is it exactly?

it's kind of like jazzy trip hop but with great production
and solid rhythms. or something...

Try the new Req album, Max Tundra's "Children at Play", VLAD
"Motion Institute" EP, Mira Calix's "Peel Session"(then go
for everything else she did, get the Peel Session first),
anything by Seefeel or Disjecta, Jamie Liddell's
record......

the picture is created by jens karlsson. a "mate" of mine.
it was exclusively created for aphextwin.nu v5, but as you
know that edition has been cancelled. i just thought it
would be a pity to cancel this wonderful art as well, so it
might be used in the upcoming site. it's beautiful. jens is
a professional designer. some of you
design/layout/graphics-interested people might have heard of
him.

the pic on xltronic is fantastic. the guy sure seems to
have a lot of talent. it reminds me a little of the gantz
graf video still shots.
