i was thinkin about it. i couldve sold my playstation2, but i wouldnt be able to see all my dvds. and i have the family guy first series. it would be a crime if i didnt watch at least once every week. |

PS2 is the best, but NONE of them are that great... SNES and Genesis forever. Hell, Playstation and N64 are better, too. I'll buy a Gamecube for Metroid, though. |

gamecube i think is definately the best one out now. its got lots of good stuff out now and all the good stuff is comin out soon too. xbox is a complete waste of $ for me because the the only 3 games I find interesrting are Jet set radio future, project ego and Panzer dragoon. ps2 is pretty good but still doesnt have enough good games for me to buy it. the only games ive liked so far are mgs2, gta3, virtua fighter4 and ico. game boy advance is also great. |

best-LOOKING??? X-Box of course wins that prize, but I'm SICK of people drooling over the Game FUCKING Cube about how fucking cute it is, how it's a nice small pretty fucking box. Goddamit appearances, to me, do not mean SHIT!!! The Playstation 2 is incredibly bland and unremarkable to look at, of course, and I'd rather look at a Gamecube than a PS2, but I'd rather PLAY on a PS2 than a Gamecube anyday. . . at least what with all the shitty Gamecube games so far. . . |

I never bought a console till I grabbed a GameCube. I love this thing. If you are playing DVDs on your PS2, you need help. The decoder in that is so bad, it's like watching VHS tapes. The XBOX is cool, but I've seen them crash before, the S controller is better than the huge original one. Still, I don't want something the size of a VCR to play games on, the GameCube is perfect. Lots of great games comming out, and Resident Evil is sweet. Ditch the PS2, Metroid, Zelda, Mario............drool |

I bought a GC for Resident Evil Remake when it was released. There are some pretty cool games coming out for it, like a few new Squaresoft ones. Otherwise man, stich with PS2, there are much better games. |

The only good game Xbox has is Halo....and since the prices went down for all consoles...I dont think any of them are going anywhere but Gamecube comes out with more games, therefore is going to kick PS2 and Xbox in the ass |

I don't see X-Box doing to well in the future. It has rather low sales figures in Japan compared to PS2 and rather close to GC's figures. If a system was to fail in Japan, the inevitable will take place in other countries. So, if Nintendo and MS don't get their act together in Japan, it won't be looking to bright for either of those companies in the future. |

sorry buddy, the dvd decoder in the PS2 is pure shit. Even a super cheap DVD player from brand X is twice as good. Check out dvd.ign.com or any other respected site that reviewed the PS2. Its just awful for playing DVDs, like a VHS, almost that bad. |

I think I'll be buying consoles past tense, now I'm getting into super nes and instead of fighting in a competing market for 50 dollar games, I'm getting them for 5-10 bucks, some 20, on ebay while everyone else's attention is diverted to x box and gamecube. Later I'll buy these when everyone else is into gamepyramid or something. |

I've pretty much stopped playing video games, but if you want a good next gen system, get a PS2 or Gamecube, DEFINATELY skip out on the X-box, that thing is pure shit. X-box games are not fun, they're all graphics (save for a couple exceptions). I prefer oldschool games (SNES, NES, etc...), but then again, I haven't played a game in months. (besides a couple arcade games that were calling my name). Anyway, Gamecube games seem more about the fun than the graphics (even though the graphics are GREAT). Playstation 2 has a good collection of fun titles. And X-box is pretty much devoid of fun. Yay, it's a 15 pound computer with no mouse or keyboard or internet support that only plays games that suck, huzah! Fuck video games. |

Nah, nah!!! X-Box ROCKS!!! Gamecube, every SINGLE GAME FOR IT I'VE PLAYED FOR IT SO FAR HAS BEEN SHIT. Except for Rogue Squadron 2, almost every game so far for Gamecube has really not been worth playing. Smash Brothers Melee? I got VERY bored VERY fast; it's just the same as the N64 version!!! AND WHAT ABOUT SPORTS GAMES??? if You're into sports games DEFINITELY GET THE X-BOX!!! As for racing games, I would also get the x-box. The Gamecube is the LEAST of my choices. . . . it might be good for a casual gamer or for little kids in a family, but for a hardcore gamer, X-BOX is where it's at!!! Also, if you want to do online gaming with a console. . . X Box is the way to go. AND FUCK YOU X-BOX ISN'T DEVOID OF FUN!!! If anything it's the GAMES that are devoid of fun, and whether they have no fun or not is a MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE. As was aforementioned, the X-Box was built with hardcore, pc-like gamers in mind. |

Videogames are a medium that need an "autechre" to show what is possible in them. Currently we just get fed all the mainstream stuff, just like the music industry feeds back street boys to people. This medium could be far more entertaining than music, not to mention it could contain any music in addition to the gameplay. Gameplay is what they should organize, they're not supposed to be movies. Make the mind focus on as many multiple things at once and having different reflexes designed for different circumstances might be a goal. |
