ok, i know that there isn't any vocals, but a sample of
some. I'm wanting to process some of my vocals to have a
very simmular sound. I hate sampling vox form external
sources, ie. movies. but, i LOVE the atmospheric sound that
sample has.

I'm pretty sure it's a combination of filters, and fx, but
i've lost my touch, being out of the game for so long, and
was wondering if anyone here knows how to create what i'm
aiming for.

to me it reminds me of the first radio transmision from the
moon by neil armstrong, the whole "one giant leap" spiel, or
old broadcasts of kenedy, or other 50's 60's broadcasts.

reverb makes a lot of difference. and yeah those Aphex
filters - I'm not sure whether they're Akai or Casio
though.
I've found that sampling acoustic instruments and then
playing them an octave or so lower makes them sound nice and
grainy too.
you can also try just recording it to cassette tape. Mira
Calix and Boards of Canada do this.
