lol
its so sad when idiot web people try to charge u for a
service that you can get so easily absolutely free anywhere
else

thats like those services where u pay to have a
web-newspaper delivered to ur email every day
nono... its not special news.. just normal every-day CNN BS
news....
the stuff u can find absolutely free at hundreds if not
thousands of other sites!
who would pay!??!

another example:
www.gamespot.com
game shit.... news, reviews, screenshots etc....
absolutely NOTHING exclusive...... u can find this shit
anywhere else for abosutely free!
then, what did they do just last month?
they try to make u start paying for it!
what kind of idiot would PAY to see screenshots of unreal2
that are available for free at the official site?!?!?!

the net that if you don't like it some site, well, move on to
the other that offers you something better, maybe better
quality......

Are you fucking kidding me???

christ, how hard is it to provide free email when you're the
richest evil corporation in the world? They've already cut
down on storage limits and you have to log in once a month
or they delete everything. I guess I shouldn't be
surprised then.

I recommend Yahoo mail. no spam, fast, simple.

Had to happen sooner or later...

How much are MS charging?...if they get the price right &
make paying easy (which I guess they will) then I reckon
quite a large number will pay up...especially if they've
quoted their email addy to a lot of people...

I know it's fairly easy to set & swap to a diff service but
I can see a lot of their current users staying with Hotmail,
especially people who don't know better...Good business, I
guess, even if it feels a bit sneaky to us...

I wish XP didn't try and co-erce you into joining
MSn/Hotmail...too easy to get lumbered with a service you
don't want...they even nearly got me and I like to think I
know what I'm doing, fuck knows how your average user deals
with this sort of thing...

it IS going to be a bitch to switch from an email address
i've used for 5 years. not only do i have to save all 850 of
my inbox emails as html files on my dialup modem, i have to
inform a hundred people of my new email address.

Hahaha fuck hotmail, they can all go kill themselves.

They first started doing this shit to my account where they
delete all my emails unless I pay to 'upgrade my account',
oh yeah, and they delete my account (along with all my
emails) within 30 days of inactivity, unless I 'upgrade my
account'. Microsoft, feel the wrath of my cable
connection's pop3 email!

my 6mb of space i would IF i had to because YAHOO mail
RAWKS. no spam for me, quick, easy, i've never had a
problem.

i have a hotmail account which i use rarely, all i ever get
is spam and msn CRAP-O-LA. i won't miss it. damn msn is an

yeah, it's people like you (who use Hotmail a lot) who MS
are after...I guess they reckon that people will rather pay
a small amount, if it is that, than go thru the hassle of
switching....

Wonder if any of the other free mail people out there are
doing anything for ex-hotmail users who want to swap?...one
of em should make it painless & reap in a load of new
punters...

well this sucks, because like titsworth, me and lots of
other people will want to save their emails, and theres no
easy way for that. Second, i love how hotmail is linked to
msn messenger. Thats a great system.

Yahoo messenger on the other hand is a pretty crappy program
IMO..

ok, i really dont buy this.

there is no news on the hotmail website, nor in my account.

July is less then a month away, and they cant force this
change on you with such short notice.

I think its just a rumor.

told them to fuck themselves. I tried to set up an account
the other week but I would have had to pay. Capitalist

then why have i not been informed in my hotmail account?

its true that if you want to upgrade, you have to pay... but
the basic service is free.

I've just created myself another Hotmail account and it
works fine!

The screen you get to about account activation has small
print at the bottom of the screen showing the two type of
account, the 10MB (£19.99 a year deal in UK) and the 2MB
free account, you need to click the little hyperlink

I've been using my 2Mb Hotmail account for ages.....and like
Zeus I haven't heard any different!

So...I'm not worried in the slightest....but as ever you
still have to login to the account at least once every 30
days....but I use MSN Messenger so not a problem...

Panic over people!

Obviously and understandably, Microsoft are wanting to make
the £19.99 the desired choice - and a lot of people will
probably upgrade. But for the rest, I would think it is
business as usual!

I bet former Bill Gates puppet "Thelonious Punk" should have
a few comments to say on this topic, I am sure!!!

Hehe my only problem is this: MSN MESSENGER!!! None of my
friends on it will want to fucking switch to Yahoo email or
Yahoo messenger for that matter!!!!. . . it'll just be
really awkward.

And what will sending hatemail accomplish, might I ask??

I've had a hotmail account since '98 but stopped using it
when Apple brought out the mac.com address (coz I'm such a
Machead) and have had NO spam mail since (Jan 2000). My
hotmail account is a joke, extremely slow and FULL of spam.
The junk mail filter is hopeless.
