this is NOT a question for people who are just going to say
"i hate how some people always put music into genres..." if
you're going to write that, save your time.

my vote: no. i think luke vibert's plug music is drum 'n'
bass, and not even as "intelligent" as photek. it's good but
more akin to aphrodite and the like than aphex twin or
autechre.

You got it Titsworth,Plug(LukeVibert) IS
drum-n-bass,sometimes could be jungle....His style doesn't
fit at all in the IDM movement....=)

i hate how some people always put music into genres...

just kidding.

It's tough for me to call it drum n bass when some of it is
clearly not drum n bass. How do you catagorize an artist
whose works greatly differ?

well you don't, but i find plug pretty easy to classify as
drum 'n' bass.

yeah...i was thinking its more straightforward drum n bass
(as the title of his album implies) though there are a few
more abstract moments in there
