I was thinking about buying some Amon Tobin... you're a
huge fan... what is his best release, and is Supermodified
any good?

My favorite is Permutation... it is JAZZY as all hell.

Bricolage is pretty much equal... it's tough to choose. With
Amon Tobin, you pretty much know what to expect with every
album... groovy, sexy jazz mixed with bad ass beats. He
won't let you down no matter what you try, and he won't
exactly shock you with his experimentation... he does what
he does, and he does it better than anyone else.

Supermodified is his newest, it's slightly less jazzy, a
little more experimental, for him...

He's got another great album called Adventures in Foam,
under the alias ''Cujo''. It's just like his other stuff,
it's fantastic.

Start with Supermodified, I guess. That's the first one I...
ahem... downloaded... and it's grrreeat like gravy.

So do you like it?

Supermodified is great, but it's my least favorite because
of the style. The other ones are jazzier, and I dig that,
baby. But they're all great, can't go wrong.

Adventures in Foam by Cujo might soon be my favorite album
by Amon Tobin, I'm just getting into it... but overall, my
favorite is Bricolage, I think. It's not as dark.

I dunno yet what I think of the album as a whole yet... some
of the tracks like Slowly, Deo, and Four Ton Mantis I think
are really cool right off, but some of the others I haven't
fully gotten into yet...

man, some of this reminds me of Bitchs Brew by Miles
Davis...

hey Ophecks, you said you love this jazz/electronica stuff
did you? Well, you should definitely check out the album
Tourist by St. Germain... I think it's fantabulous... it's a
bit more jazz then electronica, but it still has killer
beats... check it out... and it's all original material, not
sampled at all... well, a few vocal samples, but probably 90
or 95 percent of it is original stuff...

Tourist by St. Germain, think I heard a bit of that album...
but I'll download it (mwhahaa), sounds cool. Yeah, I love
this jazz thing... I think I'm going to dig deeper into the
classic jazz artists, Miles Davis and those guys. All
because of Amon, of course. :-)
