we've had topics about our jobs and our education....

but most of us (on this board) are pretty young..... and (im
guessing) still have their major 'career' (or field of
work) ahead of them..

so, what is it u plan on doing in life?
(in terms of making money)

i really have no idea at this point..... i have one more
year of high school..... then almost certainly university...
but i still have no idea..... not even a general direction!
i have no particular interests.... (a little bit of
everything)
no 'passion' for one particular thing

i just no im probably not going into pure sciences (ie
physics/genetics)
but also probably not pure business..

i just need to find something i can enjoy, not to hard (or
it makes up for it by me enjoying it/being fun) and i can
make a bunch of money so i can work for as short a time as
possible, then sit around making/listening to music!!!!!

I'll be starting my sophomore year at college this fall -
I'm studying video production. Someday I'd like to be an
editor or director, or maybe a graphics person.

If not that, then i'd like to go into audio production and
learn recording & sound reinforcement

I have NO fucking idea. Not a clue. I have lots of
interests, but none that stand out. I don't want to get
caught doing ONE thing when it turns out I'd rather be doing
another.

I actually wouldn't mind being a teacher, I guess... I've
thought about that. But I'm nowhere near making a decision
yet, I'm still in career limbo.

yeah, I'm working on a business degree... I just finished my
first year in the faculty, and my second year in
university... ummm, I don't really know where that may
lead... my brother did a degree in business, and he now
works with computers, so whatever presents itself... right
now though I'm thinking something in the field of marketing
would be cool!! That's what I plan on majoring in... and who
knows, a Ph.D might be somewhere down the road... I've been
thinking about that... but that would be a long ways away...

sounds good funkmaster

ophecks: u seem to be in the same boat as me.... i mean,
EXACTLY the same boat

even down to the part about thinking about being a teacher
but only thinking
i just want the summers off
lazy bastard

I thought a lot about being a teacher as well... I think I'd
love it... but, then I had to start thinking about how I
would pay for school, and so business started looking like a
more realistic thing... see, in the business faculty we get
work terms, and so that helps pay for the school... so half
the reason I'm doing business is to help pay for school...

honestly, i think u'd make a great teacher!
even though ive never.... well, 'met' you... still, u seem
very friendly and nice..
like u have a good attitude and u'd be good at helping
people w/ stuff

i hate school, how could i work for it!

my day!!!

man you're going to grade 12? Don't worry about your lack of
motivation... I was so not into work in high school, and I
had no motivation whatsoever... it took me until last year,
my second year in university, before I really started to
work and care about it... I think you have lots of time man,
as long as you can maintain a good enough average to get
into university, well that's all you really need... high
school doesn't have much point except that you need it to
get to university...

thanks!
i think next year i will have more motivation cus then my
marks will actually matter (to get into university)

im just finishing grade 12... ill be in grade 13 ("OAC" here
in ontario.... we're the last province in canada to have it.
in fact, im in the last group to have it... so ill be
graduating at the same time as the grade 12s next year. so
the universities will have twice the num. of people)
.....uh... anyways: ill be in grade 13 next year, when the
marks actually matter
and i really want to go to university, i think ill like itm
ore than hihg school

...so i think i'll actually work nxt year
(i tell myself that every year but OAC is different)
