worst richards release?

I think woofer did this with autechre, and I remember it
was a good way of really seeing our likings, as we are more
constant on our dislikes than in our likings (which change
depends on the mood while our dislikes use to be a more
stable feeling)

worst release for me:

singles 51/13

yep, that sounds pretty fuckin stupid

Windowlicker Ep is the worst in my book... the title track
is good but the other two just don't do it for me,
especially the equation track, which I find to be utter crap

I'm with corngrower
I usually dislike 2/3 of any Aphex Twin or Autechre release
though.

i don't like classics very much, except for analogue
bubblebath 1 and digeridoo.
i don't like the caustic window compilation either..

You gotta love Quino-Phec

I think thats one of Aphex's best tracks

offline hannibal from United Kingdom on 2002-06-08 12:46 [#00255645]

i'm just not into those distorted 4/4 kicks that seem to
occur a lot on classics. i prefer the melodic stuff like the
rdj album...thats a really consistent album.

Don´t like "We are the Music Makers", and some other tracks
may be boring, too, but doesn´t change the fact that Afx is
the Wings of God. :-)
And hey, Melodies fron Mars iz pure style if you ask me...

I disagree on the singles collection!
I looove that cd a lot.

the worst release is pacman imo.

offline Deathsmith from Brussels (Belgium) on 2002-06-08 16:59 [#00255840]

Classics is incredible, you idiots!!! And for the
Windowlicker single haters, well the title track is awesome,
Equation is highly experimental and quite enjoyable, I
think, and Nannou is a fragile masterpiece, not to be
bemsmirched!

Classics itself RAWKS!!! I can't get enough of it!! There's
not one lousy track on this compilation.

And anyway even though I haven't heard all of Richard's
material, I can't say there's any particular release that
I've listened so far that I dislike at ALL!!

I love all the new stuff:

above all:

rdj album
girl boy ep
come to daddy mini album
windowlicker
drukqs

2 remixes by afx is the one I like less of this last years,
but in general, since 1996 he is been very creative, with
lots of magic in his music... not as hard as before ICBYD
(included) but yet more free, changing...

icbyd and drukqs are maybe my favourites.

SAW2 for me... I just can't get into the whole album... now
mind you, there are moments of brilliance on there, but as
far as I'm concerned, the boring stuff far outweighs the
brilliant stuff...

right now ICBYD, SAW85-92, and Drukqs are my favorites...

saw II is a disc I never count with the rest, cos its more
classic music, so its a masterpiece, but not to be compared
with the rest of richards releases.

SAWII is his real sign of geniousness

u mean saw 2? its so repetative...its fine for relaxing to,
but it aint a masterpiece...im surprised at the number of
tracks with vocals, and the old cliche of piano pieces

realise that by 1994 it prolly was groundbreaking. still
sounds smooth to me

other pseudonyms

SAW 2 IS materpice. If I ruled the world i'd force evryone
to own that album and listen it at least once.

if it's simple THAT'S THE FUCKING POINT that's where the
genius is.

GAK and Bradley Strider are both fucking AWFUL, I'd never
know they were RDJ if I just heard them. Total crap, no
wonder he made them under an alias.

SAW2 is perhaps his best...

its boring that windowlicker is too damn short, but its my
favorite.
I wonder if he can top that!
Druqks has its moments but that windowlicker stuff with
equation...man! thats some heavy shit...
yeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

i feel the SAME EXACT way about drukqs.
