I need a girlfriend...

I need a gf that enjoys music as much as I do. I'm tired of
all these "ho's" that listen to the radio all the time, and
cant tell good music from a hole in the ground.

Any takers? ;) Or do you all think my standards are too
high?

My girlfriend had no idea of electronic music, but now she
is with me, she shows a nice interest in learning some...
she knows the most melodic aphex and even some autechre and
plaid... little by little... anyway she will never be a big
lover of electronic music, cos she is not really into any
music, but at least she shows a great interest in knowing my
likings...she also likes to listen to me while I tell her
stories about richard, tom or AE... she is not a music lover
but she is the best woman I have ever known

hmmm, I don't think a girl who likes this stuff is necessary
for me... but, a girl who can stand this stuff, and doesn't
look at me like I'm a freak for listening to it, is
necessary... I don't really care if people like it, but I
want them to be able to appreciate it on some level...

and I mean that's all you can really ask of someone right?
If they like it then great, but it they don't then you can't
really expect them to force themselves to like it... but you
can expect them to try and understand it a bit, and to stand
it and not be totally against the playing of it...

Just get a girl who has a cool personality.
Love has nothing, repeat NOTHIG to do with musical taste.
That's just dumb.

My girl listens to house and garage, but so what? I got her
into dnb though ;-)

yeah, when it comes to girls its either they like
everything, or they like very little. It would be nice to
have a girl whos an artist, then at least we could relate on
some level (no matter the art form). Most of these bitches
only care about how good they look and how much money they
can accumulate. I use the shallow girls as cum dumpsters...

forget it weatheredstoner, you have superfluously inflated
standards. in a world in which the only thing that is
certain is that life's a bitch and then you die, it's either
top-40 listening ho's or bust. speaking from experience,
after numerous failures trying to pick up supposedly "cool"
nerdy music geek girls who work at record stores, i've
gotten meself on campuskiss ... and alas, what do i find but
top-40 blandness all around ... and the odd girl who lists
her musical interests as "breaks, drum&bass, minimal,
techno" stopped all correspondence with my likes after she
found out i dig indie hip-hop ... (or maybe i'm just an ugly
cunt - but that's not what the old ladies in my
neighbourhood say! haha!).

i suppose i may as well start referring to you as a lucky
cunted bastard then! =)

i've always managed to charm the girls i have dated into
listening to at least some of the more "accessible" music i
care for. i've gotten a former girlfriend hooked on 'lazer
guided melodies' by Spiritualized - and this is a girl who
previously knew nothing beyond whatever's playing on the
local CRAP FM.
in my experience, Spiritualized somehow seems to work that
musical magic on girls ... must be the brokenhearted
lovesongs, i guess ...

anyhow, these days good girls are hard to come by ... either
that, or they have far too much stuck-up attitude for their
own good :P

man, I TOTALLY need a girlfriend... come on, I just spent
the weekend in Paris and you wouldn't believe how much I
just wanted to be there with a girl I was crazy about, and
in a relationship with... that would've been so much more
amazing!!

haha, even though I was only there for like two days, I'm of
the opinion that a trip to Paris will only strengthen a
relationship! :)

what you need is, a clone of your brain, placed inside of an
attractive female body, but with your personality inverted..
she'd have all of your interests, but a complimentary
characteristic/behavior..

naa.. that'd be just creepy.

she's really got an inverted personality compared to mine

well then set aside all creepiness,
describe to her these circumstances,
grab ahold of her, never letting go,
and say to her "you mustn't be real!"

if you find this cheesey as hell, she'll love it!

and the two of you are not dating because ... ? unless she
has a boyfriend or otherwise thinks you a complete toad (ie.
the scenario i often face of apparently being good
male-friend material, unacceptable for a boyfriend for
reasons explicable only to women) ...

or are you just too shy to reveal your true feelings on how
you'd love to be listening to 'gantz graf' with her by the
warmth of the fireplace?

we've kind of sorta been 'seeing eachother' for about 2
years. It's kind of ridiculous and probably more complicated
than it should be.

My mate knows a girl who is like a female version of his
personality. It's weird. But he's a guy and she's a
relatively hot girl.
I told him that if he screwed her technically it's only
masturbation.

haha. i once told a mate of mine that if i ever run into a
female version of myself - ie. me down to a T, only with
mammary glands and a vagina for a reproductive organ - i'd
hang my boots up and top myself in conclusion that this
world is just too fucked up to carry on.

that might be no good, though.
they might get into arguments/brawls because they are so
very similar, like identical twins or very similar
brothers/sisters or something..

yeah manticore, I have the same problem... girls always
think I'm good friend material, but when it comes time to
try something more, they aren't interested...

offline manticore from London (ON) (Canada) on 2003-11-17 01:54 [#00952940]

so the question now becomes this: if you met your exact
female counterpart - ie. you minus a load of beergut fat,
well-conditioned skin, slim shaved legs, exceptionally
maintained hair, and the aforementioned bodily features of
the opposite sex + makeup ... would you, er, DO yourself,
provided the two of you's hit it off?

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2003-11-17 01:57 [#00952942]
Points: 3803 Status: Regular

^ probably. If it's only masturbation then shit, I've
already done that.

-----------------------------

And yeah when I was younger I played out a lot of
conversations I'd have if there was another me and most of
them ended in arguments.

There's a balance of being a bit different but not like TOO
different that works. imo

good idea. here's a suggestion: a sound-based torture
chamber in which one would lock the musically disadvantaged
subjects (this of course would work for either sex) and
subject them to a week of solitary confinement with nothing
but Nickleback (or whatever their choice top-40 artist
happens to be) for comfort.

after emerging from being subject to such a drastic
treatment, 'confield' will be nothing but heaven to their
top-40 jaded ears. guaranteed!
